The Grinch Who Stole Juniper Park...

Let the next battle begin.

It seems that the Juniper Park Civic Association is ready for the next round in the fight to prevent the youth of Middle Village from using the new ball fields paid for by taxpayer money.

You see Bob “King of Juniper” Holden runs an exclusive and well funded ball club called the Midville Dodgers. For those who want to be on Bob's good side and protect themselves from unwarranted attacks, just write a nice check to the Dodgers. How do you think 7-Eleven and Walgreens are no longer adversaries of the Juniper Park Civic Association? The Midville Dodgers is a great stepping stone for talented ball player to take the next step into the big leagues, however, this may be costing the kids of our neighborhood the chance for some good old sandlot baseball. The Midville Dodgers have members from all over Queens including Long Island, coming to play home games in Juniper Park and yet the poor kids from our community who go to Juniper will only find a locked field.

Bob Holden and JPCA are saying: "Be dammed with the youth of our community! Let them go play in the pebble ridden field or get some chalk and draw bases on the blacktop! Preference will be given to MY special group of outsiders to play instead of our local boys and girls!"

A few weekends ago, a group of local boys from Our Lady of Hope went to play on the unused ballfields. Thanks to Queensborough Parks Commissioner Dorothy Lewendowski, she has insured that the fields will be open for public use! It was a great victory for the kids of Middle Village and Maspeth until, Steve Fielder, the JPCA grass man tried to refuse them and stop them from playing America's pastime. He even yelled, “These are my Fields!” Unfortunately, Mr. Fielder has done this on numerous occasions to the disappointment of many local kids. The grassman has continually locked the fields to prevent public use.

In addition, Tony Nunziato a local JPCA member was recently questioned by a member of the Middle Village Maspeth Civic Association. Tony’s response was “keep the fields closed because only the Midville Dodgers should play on the diamonds. If you want more time take some of the time away from Christ The King Regional High School” He added that Ognibene, Maltese, Gallagher and Michel are buddies that’s why Christ the King gets time.” Tony then threatened an investigation into Mike Michel.

People are fed up with the gustapo type tactics when it comes to the use of the park. Everyone should have equal time, opportunity, and access to the beautiful fields, playgrounds and grassy knolls. Let's take the park back from the controlling few and give it to the hundreds of neighborhood yearning to play ball!

I heard that Steve Fieldler was at it again accosting a son and his father who were walking on the ballfield. This time the father has written a letter to Commissioner Lewondowski telling her about Steve's delusions of grandeur.

I feel like letting my St. Bernard $hit on 2nd base. OFF HIS LEASH!

Hey Bob, why dont you stop sending your dog Steve to do your dirty work. Are you afraid of Daisy Loo?

Sorry, but I do not agree. Those ball fields are well kept and should be used by permit only. If they are opened at all times, the fields will be used for soccer and most likely dog runs. There are other ball fields to use in the park!
I say keep them locked. Want to use them get a permit!

Why is everyone so mean spirited? Stop name bashing and have some good things to say.

Isn't Juniper one of the best parks in New York? It is not that way because of the Parks Department.

That guy hits baseballs hard. What else does he hit hard?

Hey Leave Steve alone he is a good volunteer, he maintains the field well. We all know how much he loves Grass

Three Cheers for the Commissioner it is about time those fields were open to all. A victory for the little guy.

This Holden guy has ruined so many lives why haven't people stood up aginst him before this wonderful site? Next step a Dog Run!

Anonymous said...

A dog run? We must band together and fight Holden he has the media in his pocket and all his students and City Tech illegally doing his Political work. Lets all expose him for the fraud he is then and only then can we win and have a place for my Buster to run free

Anonymous said...

If we are going to expose him all anyone has to do is look at his illegal home on Caldwell avenue. Why isn't the Crap fighting this illegal use. Is it because the Juniper Civic's equipment are being used to fill the Crap blog with lies? Is it because the Civic is being used for Political purpose? People are watching Bob and Tony

Tony the Tulip wants another investigation no surprise! I want an investigation on why no one will even sits near Tony at events and why Maspeth Town Hall ousted him? Was it Fraud? Was he a bad leader? Was he to arrogant? Did he need time to fabricate a story for his daughter? Or is he just a lousy person who people are now tired of?

You know what is sad is that Bob “The Grinch” Holden stopped our community from paying tribute to Vietnam Veterans at Juniper Park. I have family that served and they always are saddened when they recall how they were treated upon return. Many years later and still ungrateful egomaniacs like Holden still want to deny our Vietnam Veterans. Hey Holden you are free to act like a dictator because of Veterans. I am sure you would have fled to Canada you Coward! In another Country they would have shot you like the Dog you are.

In response to the blogger who states that Juniper is one of the greatest Parks in the City you are right and lets Thank Councilman Dennis Gallagher and former Councilman Tom Ognibene for making that Park so great. They brought home the funding! We are lucky to have them serve us!

Publius: Oh please! It was the Parks Department spending $1.8 million that built those ball fields--with NYC taxpayer money. Elfs from the JPCA didn't build them in the middle of the night, though they would like to have you believe that.

Shame on Bob Holden.

Thanks to him an entire generation of Middle Village, Maspeth and Glendale youth have already lost their fundamental right to use some of the best ball fields in Queens. What possible right did he have to do this? This is public space, paid for by public dollars garnered by our public officials.

How did Holden accomplish locking the fields and holding the keys in his pocket? I've seen him literally open the gates, close them, and kick people out of the space.

Did Holden bribe someone to get the public officials to look the other way and allow Holden to have a monopoly on the ball fields? What favors did he do? What deals were made in the proverbial smoke filled room?

I've got it! The ball field situation is now changing because our public officials are no longer willing to play Holden's type of sleeze ball. That must be the reason why Holden has systematically gone on a crusade to attack not only the political positions of our elected officials but also their personal integrity without even a shred of credible evidence (e.g., continuing to tout 10 year old Village Voice discredited articles to support criminality). Mr. Holden, try to maintain some level of decency. Please stop the ad hominem attacks. Argue the points on the merits.

I therefore would like to know, Mr. Holden, if you agree that the ball fields should be open during the day for our youth to play. I also want to know if you think the public should be given a list of the people/organizations that have the permits for all of the ball fields, including the soccer fields. I also want to know if you agree that, if someone has a permit, and he or she does not use the fields during the scheduled time, if it is wrong for someone else to use the fields?

These questions are legitimate ones for the community to have answered, and the community has the right to discuss them in an open forum. I venture that if the ball field argument and others like it play out on this site in an open and notorious fashion unencumbered by vitriol, this site will undoubtedly become a true source to cite for meaningful information, instead of crap.

Hey Bob is Green with envy in that photo because he wants to be in the City Council and the citizens won't let him! Your days are numbered Bob the investigation is under way ask Al he knows! He is ready to sing!

The reason Holden's losing exclusive access to "his" ballfields is that he pissed off Parks Commissioner Benepe one time too many. Lesson to Holden: Don't bite the hand that feeds you your ballfields.

The failed dog lawsuit was the final straw. The JPCA's relentless campaign against Benepe and Lewendowski is a joke and now it's payback time. Holden is on Benepe's "S" list in a big way and Parks is laughing at Holden's failure.

The key for the ballfields is and has always been in the parkhouse at Juniper. All you need to do is ask for it instead of making up stories about people trying to prevent you from playing on the ballfields. Only 20% of the permits for the fields are taken out by the Midville Dodgers. A better use of your time would be exposing why Councilman Dennis Gallagher is telling members of his civic association to cut the locks on the ballfields. That is against the law and the man should be punished. I'm sure it will happen soon enough.

Hey this site is for real I tried to put up a posting on that Crap site but they refused to publish it! You see they want to try and brain wash a community. It will never work. I hope this site continues to florish and Jpca gets exposed for the radicals they have become.

To much Arbys for her! Oh wait she loves Pasta but hates Italians!

Hey do you know what Holden said to me when he denied the Vietnam Veterans wall in Juniper. He said they are all psychos and we don't need them shooting up the Park. Imagine that some way for an alleged community leader to pay respect for our returning vets. I read that the host of this site is a Veteran...Patrick Bless you forever and welcome home.

It is true Bob did Bribe someone but Gallagher wouldn't be brought off so he is public enemy number 1

I think you all should get a life!

Take some deep breaths, take a walk and get rid of all your negativity. How would you feel if these things were being said about you.

GROW UP!

I will make a deal with the poster who ask that we get a life... when Mr. Holden stops being a tyrant and dictator I will stop posting. Guess I won't be stopping!

i am hearing that the jpca is not a 501c3 corp. i am asking any fellow patriots that are able to find any information regarding their finance. lets follow the money , king bob is a thief

It's been an Annus Horribilis for the JPCA executive board. Many bad errors of judgement, poor leadership and many public and humiliation losses. It's quite fun to watch the attempts at face saving that now occur.

They'll never learn. They all have too much time on their hands and love oppressing their neighbors too much to ever stop.

An open Note to Commissioner Lewendowski:

The upper ball fields in Juniper Valley Park do not belong to the special interest ball clubs that play in for profit leagues and are designed for profit! The fields belong to the people! Not the best players from Long Island signed on to play for Midville. The Ball Fields are for the Taxpaying City Residents.

For the young men and woman who are looking for a place to play. Do you know how frustrating it is to go to the park with my children and a few friends and see perfectly good ball fields just sitting unused? My Tax dollars paid for the renovation, and my tax dollars were paying for the Dodgers to keep the fields locked! Shame on the Parks Department for allowing this! Shame on the elected officials for allowing this! Shame on anyone who supports or condones this behavior! As a member of Our Lady of Hope I just received a letter in my home about this miscarriage of justice linking me to this site. I hope this organization has the moral courage to stand up for the "Real" people of Middle Village, not community board 5 members who are President of a civic and use power to advance themselves. Commissioner stand up for the little guy, the ones who are not corrupting the system!
