I'll Get You My Pretties, and your unleashed dogs too!

The Middle Village Chamber of Commerce, Councilman Dennis Gallagher and the Parks Department have announced that on September 9th they will be hosting their 2nd annual Middle Village Community Day. Consequently, when I heard the announcement it reminded me of last year when the JPCA, under the leadership of Auntie Lorraine Sciulli (Bob Holden’s Aunt) tried to stop Middle Village Community Day from occurring and preventing families who came with their children to enjoy a day in the park.

On that day Lorraine stormed into the park and stated loudly, “This event must be approved by The JPCA.” She went on to add, “the community and the elected officials must march to the orders of the JPCA” She then immediately contacted the 104th Police precinct to stop the event which was sponsored by the City and the Middle Village Chamber of Commerce.

This is the typical arrogance displayed by the leadership of the Juniper Park Civic Association! It is apparent that a few individuals who have a strangle hold on the JPCA believe that they control our community! They must learn, however, that a civic association works on behalf of the people and not on behalf of a narrow-minded minority. A civic association does not have the right to silence their members and tell them to “Agree or don’t let the door hit you on the way out”.

A civic association should never allow an Executive member to pull the plug on a microphone to silence a PTA mother who is expressing her views or when a member disagrees with the association, refund her dues and excommunicate her from the civic. A civic association should be tolerant of those who disagree and respect both the majority and minority views. All attendees should feel free to speak publicly about issues that concern them even though they may diametrically opposed to the leadership of the organization. In addition, a civic association should not slander or destroy people who disagree or have their character maligned in a Civic newsletter like the Juniper Berry. Lastly a civic association should not become a political organization or propaganda machine. I read in a the crap blog that Tony Nunziato and Bob Holden took their Juniper Berry paid for by dues and government funding and distributed it at a political event. The JPCA has transformed itself from being an open community civic association to an “agreeable members only” club and political machine.

The JPCA was once a proud organization but sadly it has been slowly declining because of a few individuals who have forgotten how a civic association should conduct its affairs and serve the community. Unfortunately, this is what occurs when the leadership no engages in open dialogues, and no longer consults with its members, residents and community leaders. Instead the association is lead down a path of hatred and anger.

True Patriots see that this organization no longer represents the values and ideas of our community. Furthermore, they ignore the principle our founding fathers applied when building this great nation. Consequently, they would disapprove of this organization and their tactics because they disgrace all us who believe in true civic and community involvement.

I didn’t know that Holden and Lorraine were related. I guess JPCA and the community Board are just a family affair.

I guess that mean spiritedness runs in the family

Lorraine is an angry woman I was at the Park when this happened last year she stormed over to all the volunteers and tried to assert herself as the keeper of the park. She actually tried to stop the event; she made a complete ass out of herself. Sorry the JPCA does not own the Park the people do.

Maybe a dog house will fall on this wicked witch of Juniper.

This Post shows the arrogance of Bob Holden and his family. They believe that they control everything in Middle Village and Bob profits from everything legally and illegally.

Where is Al people want to ask you questions about what work you did in Bob’s basement? Who paid? Did you do it on City time? Al people are watching again!

At what point are the good people of Middle Village and Maspeth going to stand up and fight back against this evil dictator Bob Holden. Just like Fidel Castro Bob keeps his family in positions of power so he can profit. Lorraine what’s your percentage.

Is that Auntie Lorraine’s high school photo you used for this Post?

I have 2 dogs I walk in the park this crazy lady from Juniper Park Civic films all of the dog owners each day. I believe the story she is a crazed lady. Her and Bob are two peas in a pod.

This is why the Juniper Valley civic is losing its influence.

Aunt Lorraine actually was circulating a petition against the placement of the Vietnam veterans moving wall in Juniper Park. She won the battle and the wall was moved to Cunningham Park.

What a shame that our kids could not go to the park a see a bit of history and pay tribute to our hero warriors who lost there lives for us.

This site attacks volunteers. You should be ashamed

The JPCA and the Dictator Bob Holden should be ashamed. Trying to stop kids from enjoying a day in the park, sad people that Holden and his pit bull aunt Lorraine

If the JPCA wants a war I can't wait till this year’s event if that wretch of a woman comes near us she may have to call the Police on me. These people are sick and now is the time to show everyone just how out of touch they are

The JPCA attacks its own members and volunteers. Go back to Bob Holden tell him you did your duty and posted then enjoy the Kool-Aid he lets you drink.

Volunteers do not profit from their endeavors. Bob is siphoning money from everything. I wonder what will happen after the two investigations are finished.

He will visit his buddy Detrano

So will Al you know he will sing like a bird especially when he sees the evidence.

Amazing what a small investigation can uncover.

Lorraine needs to lighten up she is so uptight. I guess she forgot what it was like to be a kid in the Park, now all she wants is to keep kids out.

Lorraine Sciulli idea of a perfect Juniper Park:

Keep Kids and Families Out

Keep Vietnam Veterans Out

Keep the Candle Light Vigil Out

Keep the Philharmonic Out

Keep Dog's Out

Keep Hockey players Out

Keep Soccer Out

Keep only the Midville Dodgers in so her Nephew can Pad his Pockets

Juniper Park Civic is now the most Pathetic group around.

Perhaps the JPCA only wants the "Doocey Kids" in the Park. Doocey likes a little red wine and his Juniors. That's why so many kids are quitting

Doocey is a freak I would never let anything breathing next to him. We have a mutual friend you should hear some of the things this guy is in to.

Talk about a witch I think the "False Reporter who don't stand by their friends should be publicly denounced in a mailing with suitable pics (Most are not suitable if you know what I mean)

Please don't turn this site into a Crap! Stay on message.

With all the facts pointing to Bob Holden's fradulent activities when can we see justice?

Holden, Doocey, Kemperman, and Lorraine attacked dogs and dog owners for a year and lost big time especially in the court of public opinion.

Now Bobby H writes a Juniper Berry story about picnicers on the "contaminated" area of Juniper Valley Park. What a lie from beginning to end. OK, Bobby Boy- open your locked fields to picnicers if you're so concerned.

Meanwhile, did you see the Daily News yesterday? NYC is the nation's SAFEST city for mail carriers: NOT A SINGLE BITE IN 2006!

It's time the four of you were neutered and leashed.

DAILY NEWS:
Fido ♥'s mailman
N.Y.C. named safest for letter carriers - none chomped in '06
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
New York Daily News, Thursday, May 17th 2007, 4:00 AM
WASHINGTON - New York already has bragging rights for being America's safest big city when it comes to crime.
Now it has a new accolade: the safest city for letter carriers looking to avoid vicious dogs.
Not a single letter carrier in the metro area reported being bitten by a dog last year. And you have to go pretty far to find places safer than New York: The next safest is Alaska, with two bites, followed by Honolulu with three.
The most dangerous area? Southern California. Santa Ana, in Orange County, led the nation with 96 bitten carriers.
Three of the top five spots for carriers to get bitten were also in the Golden State.
Juan Barrios, a carrier in Long Beach, Calif., needed 50 stitches on the right side of his face after being attacked by three dogs several years ago.
"I fought off two but one got in a lucky bite," said Barrios, who nearly lost an eye.
"Unfortunately, the customers think because the dogs are docile to them, they will be docile to everybody else," he said.
"Every animal needs to be protective, but it's up to the customers to keep them trained," he added. "Here in California, they just seem not to do it."
Following Santa Ana's 96 bites were Houston with 94; Sacramento, 82; Los Angeles, 77, and South Florida, 71.
It's not unusual to hear jokes about carriers being bitten, but it's no laughing matter to the post office, which kicks off dog bite awareness week today.
Last year, some 3,184 letter carriers were bitten by dogs, the agency said, down slightly from 3,273 in 2005.

Step up to the plate you know we are right.

To my blogger friend who believes Doocey is a scary dude, have you checked out Steve Fiedler, anyone who watches him can see him smoking Pot in the Park. He has an affinity with Grass

I think Doocey and Fiedler are scary folks but I believe you can trust Fielder with kids. Grass man only tokes so often. Red Wine makes Doocey friendly.

Isn't it amazing that only JPCA Board Members are the ones that are attacked by : wild un-leashed dogs, packs of rowdy youths etc.

I would like to clarify that dogs & their owners in Middle Village have been persecuted by the JPCA for many years. It is only in the last year that they have expanded to include all of NY. I am thankful that this community came forward & fought with integrity & perseverance , the right side won. Hopefully this will be the case for all future fights!

The Patriots should devote a blog entry about the humilation and total defeat of the JPCA executive board during the past year when they tried to eliminate the off-leash hours policy citywide.

Holden and Company lost every step of the way. They blew $10,000 of JPCA money and lost big time in Queens Supreme Court. The judge went out of his way to comment in his decision that Holden had a "fundamental misunderstanding of the law." Even a Queens Supreme Court judge doesn't like Holden!

Then Doocey took up the "fight" when Bob H. realized this impending humiliation and collosal misstep wasn't going to help his political fortunes one bit.

The JPCA took another huge hit at the Health Department, when the Board of Health unanimously voted to amend the Leash Law. Ooops, there goes the JPCA's argument that the policy was bad for public health. BTW, does anyone question Doocey's credentials for being JPCA safety pooh-bah? Does drinking a lot of red wine qualify one for that position, or just keeping one's nose close to Bobby's rear end?

Then, the final humiliation when the JPCA executive board was vanquished by Bobby's arch enemy, Parks Commissioner Benepe, who passed regulations that put the policy that the JPCA has worked so hard to elimiate not just from Juniper Valley, but from the whole city into the rules book.

I've been walking my dog offleash before 9 in Juniper Valley Park for three years. It's a great policy that brings neighbors together.

Shame on the JPCA executive for the vendetta against their neighbors. The JPCA executive board represents no one except themselves, and they have done untold harm to the community. It must stop. Thank you Patroits for calling them out for what they are.

Do not get me wrong here. I am a dog lover and a dog owner. But, on more than one occassion, an off the leash dog has charged me and my pooch at Juniper. It is frightening. My instincts are to protect my dog and then the fear runs through me for myself. Animals are not predictive.

Anonymous said...

I am surprised to hear that an unleashed dog charged you. They are usually much more interested in each other.

I have on occasion seen a dog go up to a person and greet them, via a quick sniff.

A number of years ago (about 5) I went to one of the meetings. I was there to say that after 9 pm it should be OK for owners to let their dogs off the leash in the park. After all, the park is closed anyway at that time. I was also going to say that in the morning it should be early, before the school children head for school. There was another man with the same point of view. We asked to speak about our opinion. We were made to wait until the very end and then told we could not speak by Bob Holden. (I think a dog had lunged at Bob Holden at one time. That dog must have been a good judge of character. just kidding)
I felt that this was very unfair.I never wanted to attend a meeting there again. Bob Holden acted like he owned that meeting and the only people allowed to speak would have to agree with him. Furthermore, on the topics he discussed, his mode was to scare the elderly people who attended the meeting.
I agree with what you say that all points of view should be allowed to be aired. Thanks for letting me make this comment.
