Here is another instance where the Juniper Park Civic Association applauds your accomplishments and touts your accomplishments until....you disagree with their leadership which causes them to attack and malign you.
Congressman Anthony Weiner has proven that he is a dynamic and intelligent public servant. Consequently, during the last mayoral campaign Congressman Weiner's numbers began to soar against Freddy Ferrer. This was due in part to the Congressman's energy but mostly because people began to hear what Weiner had to say. Even the Juniper Park Civic Association in their October 2002 issue of the Juniper Berry had great things to say about the young and bright politician from Queens.

*"Weiner is a tireless worker, smart and committed to policy and a fighter for his district"
*"The New York Post named him one of the 'up and comers' of 2001"
*"(Weiner) list of leader in the 21st Century"
The above statements are glowing accolades from the JPCA and strong endorsements for higher political office. As we all know, all good things must come to an end. Especially when you disagree with the Almighty Bob Holden.
In the October 2005 Juniper Berry, Congressman Weiner goes from a "tireless worker" to "someone you would not want next to you in a fox hole"
In a negative article entitled "Introducing the "Real" Weiner", the Juniper Park Civic Association once again shows its true colors and fickle nature.
Congressman Weiner goes from "a fighter for his district", to "when the going gets tough, Anthony Weiner is gone"
In the attack piece, Mr. Holden has the audacity to ask the rhetorical question, "Are we being too political for a civic association?" We here at the Patriots should not dignify that question with an answer, but we will.
The Juniper Park Civic Association is no longer a civic association but a vile political machine that operates to effectuate the political aspirations of a few maniacal egomaniacs. They will stop at nothing and use any means necessary to realize their grandiose delusions of winning an elected position. The majority of people in Middle Village and Maspeth are decent, hardworking people and know a fake when they see one. Thankfully they are seeing a fake in the Juniper Park Civic Association.
If you are ever allowed to attend a Juniper Park Meeting, (you wont because they have closed the doors to outsiders and interlopers) you will notice the absence of political leaders from all levels of government. Everyone is beginning to realize that today you maybe the hero but rest assured, tomorrow the JPCA will soon label you a zero.

Bob Holden actually had to ask if the Juniper Civic has become a Political organization. He knows he is leading it so he and Tony Nunziato can get elected. We see through them! First they use the Berry to attack people they want to run against now they mail BS to members using Due money! They have become amazingly brazen.
I remember that Article I was shocked at the title I thought it offensive especially since I picked up a copy at Our Lady of Hope. Clearly the title is of a sexual nature! Shame on those heathens at the JPCA. Congressman Weiner and I differ on Pro Life issues but I still would treat him in a dignified way, after all his Position deserves our respect not necessarily our vote. Please JPCA take the high moral ground for once.

The upper ball fields in Juniper Valley Park do not belong to the special interest ball clubs that play in for profit leagues and are designed for profit! The fields belong to the people! Not the best players from Long Island signed on to play for Midville. The Ball Fields are for the Taxpaying City Residents.
For the young men and woman who are looking for a place to play. Do you know how frustrating it is to go to the park with my children and a few friends and see perfectly good ball fields just sitting unused? My Tax dollars paid for the renovation, and my tax dollars were paying for the Dodgers to keep the fields locked! Shame on the Parks Department for allowing this! Shame on the elected officials for allowing this! Shame on anyone who supports or condones this behavior! As a member of Our Lady of Hope I just received a letter in my home about this miscarriage of justice linking me to this site. I hope this organization has the moral courage to stand up for the "Real" people of Middle Village, not community board 5 members who are President of a civic and use power to advance themselves. Commissioner stand up for the little guy, the ones who are not corrupting the system!
As a Middle Village resident I have become increasingly tired of the blatant politicizing of a once great civic. Sorry that the JPCA has become so irresponsible. Mr. Holden you are to blame. You are failing to see just how many members have become tired of your antics!
I wonder if that Cartoon was done by a member of Bob Holden’s City University class. You see the self proclaimed King of Juniper is a professor who uses his students to perform his political dirty work and then gives them better grades another unethical thing Bob Holden is involved in! The JCPA went after Weiner because he favored the cross harbor tunnel and the thousands of trucks it would have put on Maspeth's streets.

Hey Tex you missed the point it is OK to disagree with an elected official it is ok to criticize an elected official. It is ok to stand up for what you believe, but you can't cross the line. Calling the man a "Weiner" and maligning his character is the wrong way. Have you noticed that no elected officials attend JPCA meetings anymore? Mayor Michael Bloomberg made the quickest exit ever to avoid Bob Holden, and now will never again visit the JPCA because of the angry barrage of letters that are personally insulting.

But the biggest losers are Juniper Civic members because the organization under the leadership of Dick Shick and Ernie Chirichella and Mary Cummins would never mix politics and civics only those who want to use the civic to advance themselves politically would mix the two to the determent of the community as a whole.

I moved into Middle Village just last year and I went to a Juniper Vally Civic meeting to get involved. I saw how this angry man Holden runs his meeting and I never went back. I follow him in the papers he believes he is the second coming of God. Thank you for the letter to my home advertising this site.
Hey Tex if you read the Juniper Berry you must like articles on St. Saviors and Dogs in the Park that seems to be the focus of the Berry now. No elected officials even bother to write for the rag. Tex join a real organization like the Middle Village Property Owners and Residents Association where hate is not on the agenda.
