The Juniper Park Civic Association executive board and their very own venomous witch, Christina Wilkinson wants you to believe that Councilman Gallagher has done nothing for our community. In a recent rambling, Ms. Wilkinson writes:
“Gallagher hasn't authored any bills or won any victories for our communities since being re-elected in a one-candidate contest. Running unopposed meant that he wouldn't have needed to spend a lot of time fundraising or campaigning, so we have to wonder why he's been so lazy over the past few years. Instead of focusing his time and energy on helping the neighborhoods he represents, he has been busy attacking our organization and everyone else who is either not in agreement with him or friendly with us.”
Let’s look at the facts (all the information below can be researched for factualness and truthfulness).
• Gallagher single handedly led the fight to stop commercial development at the old KeySpan gas tank site.
• He saved the Catalpa YMCA from closing.
• He stopped the city from spending $20 million on the translation of Department of Education documents into multiple languages.
• He increased funding for senior programs throughout the district.
• He increased funding for youth programs throughout the district.
• He secured funding to expand and modernize schools in our neighborhoods.
• He developed an anti-graffiti program that has proven to be an overwhelming success.
• He developed a local economic development plan to help our community shopping areas.
• He fought the city to establish local memorials for veterans and September 11th victims.
• He successfully closed a Maspeth halfway house.
• He voted against every tax increase in the NYC Council, including the 18.5% property tax increase that has hurt working families.
It is important to judge an individual by the totality of his actions and not erase a lifetime of dedicated public service because of one incident. The JPCA will have you believe Councilman Gallagher has done nothing; however, the facts support just the opposite.

The JPCA's hypocrisy knows no bounds.
They accuse Gallagher of doing nothing, yet just two years ago, he was selected by these very same hypocrites as the JPCA Man of the Year.

I suppose that even though the JPCA now says Gallagher did nothing for those 5 years leading up to his Man of the Year designation, at that time, the JPCA Man of the Year award was for donothings.
Did the JPCA have a collosal lapse in judgement two years ago, or now? Or both perhaps!!
Holden and the rest of the mental midgets that comprise the JPCA executive board are in quite a quandry. You see, they hate elected official Gallagher with such rage and irrationality because he disagreed with un-elected Herr Holden on a few matters, they then had to backpeddle and figure out a way to change history.
It's hard to put Gallagher on the front cover of the Dingle Berry as a neighborhood hero, and vote him Man of the Year, then a few months later, consider him the worst politician ever to serve in the City Council.
Rank hypocrisy. And yet another example of the JPCA's attack machine if one does not agree in lockstep with Herr Holden and his Flying Monkeys'postions.
Let any policitian or anyone else who seeks to curry favor with Holden and the Mental Midgets learn by this example. It's only a matter of time before Holden will turn on you like a rabid animal.
Gallagher may have some failures in his personal life but it is clear he has handled his professional life very well
This guy has been more visable than any other elected official. When is the last time you saw Seminerio or Nolan at an event.
As time goes by Gallagher will be viewed as an outstanding elected official who delivered.
