Flood Meeting 10/16/2007

We just received an e-mail from the Middle Village Maspeth Civic Association alerting us of their next meeting. More importantly, it appears that the MVMCA was able to get the Mayor's Community Assistance Unit, the NYC Department of Environmental Protection and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to address the community.

It looks like this new civic association can get individuals to their meeting who can help our community!

Great job!

DATE: Tuesday, October 16th 2007

LOCATION: Our Lady of Hope auditorium

Look what was written in a recent Times Ledger Article:

But Juniper Park Civic Association President Robert Holden said the Oct. 11 meeting should be open to local residents. He said the DEP recently canceled an appearance at the civic's meeting on Sept. 20 but told him that the agency would gather with community leaders in October.

"I think this is about DEP not wanting to get beat up publicly," he said. "Maybe they're getting stage fright. I've never seen this kind of behavior by a city agency, where they duck any kind of criticism."

You are so wrong Bob. Why are they coming to the MVMCA meeting? Because city agencies and sane people want to deal with respectable, honorable and decent indviduals. You are none of these fine attributes

wow...I can't believe how foolish Bob looks right now

talk about egg on your face! Bob Holden has a few dozen large grade a eggs dripping off his chin

Thanks to the MVMCA for allowing the community an opportunity to address individuals who are directly responsible for our flooding issues. I attend the last JPCA meeting hoping to hear DEP, however, becuase of Mr. Holden, I was denied that opportunity

It is great to see that all these important organizations will be present to answer complaints. Good job I went to the JPCA meeting which advertised they were going to have officials no one showed. I left that Holden runs the meeting like a dictator!

This a perfect example of what can be accomplished if you are willing to conduct yourself in a professional and amiable manner. You can get things done.

Just more proof that Holden and his goon squad are a handicap to our neighborhood

I created the DEP in 1924 (therefore I should be at the meeting), just like I was the ONE who bought the Keyspan site for $1, and if it wasn't for Al Gore, I would have invested the internet

About right know, Bob feels like a fat red-headed one leg girl on prom night

game. set. match.

We all know Bob is going to blame Gallagher for this insult! Gallagher orchestrated this whole thing! Which is it Bob? Is Gallagher a powerless elected official who can longer serve his community? or is he the master of political capital who can pull the strings of governmet agencies to have the show up or not to show up?

You can't have it both ways moron

does anyone know how to become a MVMCA member?

I was almost believing the propaganda that DEP and the mayor had turned their back on Middle Village. Now I know they just don't deal with evil people.

Hey people let us keep our eye on the prize. We should take full advantage of this meeting and listen to what DEP intends to do to stop the flooding. Holden and the JPCA are unimportant, lets work together to ensure that our homes are protected from future flooding

I have to admit that I used to be a big fan of Queens Crap, however, whenever I was critical of the JPCA my comments were omitted but my negative comments about Gallagher always went through. That is not right. Queens Crap lives up to its name, they are full of crap.

Holden is a disgrace and has been disgraced now. He can no longer get things done.

Congratulations to the MVMCA in coordinating this meeting. It is not easy to get agencies to a meeting when they are on the hot seat. Obviously they have respect and confidence in this civic

If Bob was really concerned about the community he would step down as JPCA President, hold elections and bring new blood to the leadership. Nothing prevents him from being involved, however, bob has lost his influence

I guess Tulips teeth are falling out right about now!

Anonymous said...

damn. I was hoping Councilman Oddo would attend so he can tell DOT, "You better fix the f*&^%in flooding or I'll kick your f*&^in ass

Anonymous said...

Maybe Holden has started to figure it out when he said "I think this is about DEP not wanting to get beat up publicly,"

Yeah Bob these men and woman work for a living and are now trying to come up with a solution that has been a part of Middle Village for 30 years!

Why should they come to a meeting so you can "beat them up" "ridicule them" "smash them" "embarass them" "hurt them"

Your a school yard bully beware of someone who fights back and the Mayor is not scared of you!

I always wonder what Bob Holden has on Tom Ognibene for Tom to still support this disgrace of a human being Holden!

Money is the Answer Tom and Bob have always had a Financial agreement.

Search on the Web you can find it!

I did!

Pat Adams knows too!

The MVMCA needs to do a better job of communicating its meetings and activities. It's website is not up to date. And I left an e-mail through its site to inquire about membership and I never received a response. For those without computers, I'm not sure how people are supposed to find out about its meetings and updates. If I didn't see this blog, I would never have know about Tuesday's meeting.

The Juniper Civic Association was the first to have a meeting about flooding while this Middle Village Mutts Civic were busy eating donuts and canoli.

Keep up the great work again a day late and dollar short.

I hate Bob but one question, since you are so goody with DPG why wont he resign. He is not represnting the community

The JPCA is about Bob Holden and not the Community. Bob turns off peoples mikes, and insults people who disagree with him. If I want to see that I'll watch "Yo Mama" on MYV. But if I want to see things get done and ADULTS working together to solvescommunity issues, I'll work witt the MVMCA...

Mr Mojo Risin.

Thanks for posting the info about the upcoming MVMCA meeting. Looks like quite a cast of agencys will be in attendence. It shows that unlike some other civics with personal agendas and ineffective leadership, the MVMCA can really get something accomplished. Thank you for helping our community rather than dividing it.

Unfortunately the community is already divided, thanks to all the smear campaings and the negative blogging. I don't know if this community will ever be the same.

You're right. It's time for the ineffective and divisive leadership of the JPCA to hold new elections. The light of day needs to shine on that corporate governance for it to have any legitimacy going forward. The Holden Era has greatly tarnished a heretofore respected civic.
