Birds of Obama Flock Together

Growing up on the streets of New York City in the 1940’s you met a lot a rough characters who traveled in some really tough criminal circles. I remember my parents always cautioning me to choose my friends wisely and they would throw in cliché terms like, “guilty by association”, “birds of a feather flock together” ect ect. Of course I conveyed this message to my children and told them you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep. It seems that B. Hussein Obama's parents forgot to have that talk with the Senator.

Here are just some of B. Hussein’s friends:

Tony Rezko

Rezko's trial on corruption charges starts Monday. Rezko has a longtime relationship with Obama. Any mention of Obama in the trial -- he is a side figure -- could have political ramifications for Obama and be grist for ads. While Obama's connections to Rezko have long been the subject of stories in the Chicago newspapers, the trial is the peg for other news organizations to be doing their own examinations.

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan

Farrakhan recently offered an unsolicited endorsement of Obama. He is considered by many Jews as an anti-Semite. At the Democratic debate in Cleveland last Tuesday, Obama said he would "reject and denounce" Farrakhan's help.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright

Obama continues to explain to Jewish voters his relationship with his pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who is retiring from the Trinity United Church of Christ at 400 W. 95th. A magazine connected to Wright honored Farrakhan. Last Sunday, Obama said Wright "is like an old uncle who sometimes will say things that I don't agree with."

Austan Goolsbee

An economics professor at the University of Chicago, Goolsbee is one of Obama's top economic advisers. Goolsbee is at the center of several news reports -- on Canadian television and ABC News -- dealing with Obama and NAFTA. Obama has said that as president, he would ask Canada and Mexico to renegotiate the trade agreement. The reports finger Goolsbee -- who did visit the office of the Canadian counsel general in Chicago but not to talk about trade -- as being the source of sending the message to Canada that Obama's bark is worse than his bite on NAFTA. Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said any suggestion that there is a back channel is "ridiculous" and that news reports concerning this have been "debunked" and Obama stands by his statements.

William Ayers

Hyde Park welcomed William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn to the neighborhood after they resurfaced as local civic leaders following their years on the lam as members of the Weather Underground. But stories by Bloomberg's Tim Burger and the Politico's Ben Smith have drawn attention to Obama's ties to the former radicals. Ayers is an education professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a national reputation for studying urban school systems. Ayers served with Obama on the board of the Chicago-based Woods Funds. "While Ayers and Dohrn may be thought of in Hyde Park as local activists, they're better known nationally as two of the most notorious -- and unrepentant -- figures from the violent fringe of the 1960s anti-war movement," Smith wrote. "Obama's relationship with Ayers is an especially vivid milepost on his rise, in record time, from a local official who unabashedly reflected a very liberal district to the leader of national movement based largely on the claim that he can transcend ideological divides," Smith concluded.

Looks like B. Hussein Obama should change his friends before speaking about changing the country.

God Bless America (has Obama ever said that after a speech?)

Yawn.

Get used to the term President B. Hussein.

And get used to an agenda antithetical to all you stand for being jammed down your conservate throat for the next four years.

Mwahahahahah.

Time for the those who screwed our country for so long to sit down, shut up, and let us clean their diaper.

Not only has Senator Obama said "God Bless America" at the end of his speeches, but he:

1. Rejected and renounced Farrakhan. Whereas John McBush has said that the anti-Catholic evangelist from Texas stands for all McBush stands for.

2. Resko may be guilty but there is no evidence of any complicity by Senator Obama whereas McCain was VERY complicit with the Keating 5 who were major players in the savings bank scandal; the greatest rape of American taxpayers until McBush's Iraq War.

3. McBush has 27 lobbyists on his campaign. VERY interesting for someone who tries to claim to be against special interests.

4. You emphasis on Senator Obama's middle name is pure racism. You are implying that he is Muslim (which he is not and you know it). And you are trying to connect him to Saddam Hussein. Maybe you should remember President Hussein of Jordan who was our ally.

You and other racists of your ilk cannot win on issues so you resort to dirty politics.

So be it.. the majority of Americans will defeat you and your bigotry the old fashioned way- at the ballot box (unless you use your politically motivated Justice Department to deny people the right to vote)

I don't see the whole significance of your "B. Hussein" thing. I support McCain, particularly because I respect him and agree more with limited government policies, but I respect Obama even though I disagree with his policies. (I have no respect for Clinton.) He was named after his father, who left when he was very young and who he barely knew. So what? Your "B. Hussein" take is bad form.

I'm for Hillary, but I wouldn't be that upset if Senator Obama gets the nod...

I wonder why the libs get so upset when you use Barack's middle name. Is that not his given name? It is perplexing why they get so sensitive and defensive when Hussein is mentioned. It's not like its a popular Muslim name or the surname of a recently deposed ruthless dictator...oh wait...that is exactly why they get upset. My bad.

Thomas:

We're upset because there are a lot of feeble minded people out there who listen to the Sean Hannity's and Bill O'Reily's of the world who will mindlessly recoil from anything that sounds foreign, or especially Muslim.

Of course your conservative buddies know that and try that cheap racist ploy over and over. Nice try.

Get used to President Barak Hussein Obama baby!!!!

Mwhahahahahahah.

Thomas “Archie Bunker”... Go clean your white sheets and shine up your Swatzsticker because you sound just like the Fascists in pre-War Germany. Only this time, we "liberals" won't sit back and let you get away with Swiftboating anyone. We will pull off your hoods and expose your narrow minded, racism, bigotry, and religious hatred. Your ignorance will become ridiculed by more intelligent people (notice, I did not say "educated" because the two are not necessarily synonymous). Martin Luther said in the 16th Century, ““I’d rather be ruled by a wise Turk than a foolish Christian.” You are less than a foolish Christian.. your bigotry proves you’re not a Christian by any standard that Jesus taught.

This guy scares me a bit. Too smooth with no experience. He talks a good talk.

I do get captivated by his speeches but that won't make him a good President.

Mmmm.. let's see.. we should not elect someone who speaks well and intelligently. Or someone with minimal experience in elective office. Or someone who has better judgment than the opposition.

Wait.. we already did that... Republican Abraham Lincoln.. 2 term Congressman, failed Senatorial candidate, self educated, great speaker, greater judgment.. he saved our nation.

Obama has the ability to do the same.

Abraham Lincoln was elected decades ago. Times are different now. Just because someone can speak well and says alot of nothing in a captivating way should not be the reason you vote for them.

Alot of fluff no substance is what I think of Obama.

Yes, it was long ago and times were different, but look at things in a historical perspective: the nation was breaking apart, it was neighbor against neighbor, family member against family member. And, as most do not know, European powers were watching our civil war with the idea of coming in and taking power if our country split into parts.

So the actual challenges were far greater on a human level in the 1860's.

It all came down to judgment. Lincoln created a cabinet of people from all sides of the political spectrum including those who ran against him. Obama offers the same promise.

People felt Lincoln had no substance. Some think the same of Obama. They recoil at his words without checking his already disseminated statements on specific issues and proposals.

Yes, his campaign must be "meatier" on the stump since that is what most people see and hear. Most do not bother actually studying issues.

What have McCain and Hillary offerd that is any more specific? If you have studied each of their positions and agree with one person, definitely do vote for that person.

But do not do what people did in 2000- they wanted to have a beer with Bush so they voted for that dolt and we've been punished with eight years of ineptitude.
