Great Concert in Juniper Park

On Sunday, June 10th I enjoyed a wonderful “Red, White and Blue” concert performed by the Queens Symphony Orchestra in Juniper Park. The hundreds of people in attendance were treated to classical music composed by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin John Phillip Sousa and George M Cohan. The brilliant patriotic song selection raised the nationalistic spirit and boosted American pride of everyone in attendance.

There was also a very special tribute to those in the audience who had served in the Armed Forces. Maestro Constantine Kitsopoulus asked that when the veterans heard the anthem for their particular branch of service they should stand up and be recognized. Veterans serving during World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf, representing all the branches of services stood at attention, saluted and beamed with pride as the crowd applauded their service to our nation. It was an unbelievable moment of honor, respect, dignity and patriotism.

Special thanks to the Queens Symphony Orchestra, NYC Parks Department, the Middle Village Chamber of Commerce, the Middle Village Maspeth Civic Association and Councilman Dennis Gallagher for organizing this delightful patriotic musical event. In the future, I hope to attend more of these types of events that bring the community together to promote American patriotism and pride.

God Bless America

I sat next to my Dad a proud Korean war Vet who is disabled when it was his time to rise he used all his energy to stand up and Salute. I cried for the first time since mom died. Thanks for all those who made this event a success.

I thought those Ice Cream trucks were rude playing the music during the concert.

To the sponsors of this wonderful event a heartfelt thank you. I really enjoyed the music and the people. Its great to see something positive happening for eveyone in the park. I really commend all the volunteers who helped with this affair. Thanks to Middle Village and Glendale Volunt. Amb core for showing your support and standing by just in case.

The JPCA “Yellow Journalist” were quick to rate this event a failure. That’s because they were playing with their keyboards and missed a great show.

The concert sucked. I should have stayed home and watched Rachael Ray.

Now this is what I like to see on this site. Let's get away from dragging names through the mud and read about intellegent issues and community events.

Thanks,

I was at the concert and truly enjoyed it, as did the hundreds of others who were also there. I read that the Queens Crap has already knocked and criticized the concert. What else can you expect from a blog site run by a JPCA Executive Committee member - they ridicule anything positive that is not sponsored by or credited to the JPCA and Bob Holden. Can't see how the JPCA helps improve the quality of life in our community when they condemn "good and positive" events that they are not directly involved in.
