Robert Holden is Against You

Robert Holden is against YOU!

Robert Holden is out there again attacking members of the community who are dog owners. Once again, Holden is fighting against a dog run in Juniper Park and again causing a rift in our community.

Let us take a look at what else Robert Holden (and the Juniper Park Civic Association) is against…

Robert Holden is against children
Robert Holden is against education
Robert Holden is against reducing overcrowding in schools
Robert Holden is against letting kids play on the upper ball fields
Robert Holden is against minorities
Robert Holden is against dogs
Robert Holden is against dog runs
Robert Holden is against veterans
Robert Holden is against placing the Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial in our park
Robert Holden is against parents
Robert Holden is against our community
Robert Holden is against YOU

Isn’t it time that the community come together and stand together against Robert Holden and the Juniper Park civic association

Robert Holden was on NY1 this morning supporting a dog run at Juniper Park. So this information is false.

Anonymous: This is such nonsense.

Holden has been against a dog run in Juniper for years. In fact, he fought so hard against it, that he sued the City (unsuccessfully) in 2006, which blew up in his face. BTW, has anyone ever audited where the JPCA got the $10,000 to pay Gabe Tapalaga's law firm for representation (that was unsuccessful)? JPCA members should demand to know how the executive board is misspending their dues.

Holden now realizes that he can no longer stop what the majority of park users want--which is to take the area that for many years has been used successfully for 9-9 offleash hours in Juniper Park and turn it into an enclosed dog run.

So now Holden is scrambling and all of a sudden, after all these years, is miraculously "in favor" of a dog run in Juniper Park! Pretty soon he'll be saying on NY1 that he was actually for a dog run all along and that lawsuit against the City didn't actually happen. It was another Bob Holden and another JPCA executive board that brought the suit and said that Juniper Park should not be turned into a "dog toilet".

But wait, in Holden's mind, that dog run won't be where dogs have been allowed offleash for over 7 years. No, in Holden's mind, it's a very small enclosed dog run at the edge of the park.

Holden's trying to co-opt the process that's getting away from him.

One of Bo's comments on why a dog park would not be good where the current dog owner's recreate is because of a lack of drainage.

This is incorrect there is in actuality a drain hole right in that area. Which works much better that the drainage between the tracks & the hockey rink.

Holden's just trying to keep dogs and their owners as far as possible from his locked ballfield.

Mr. Holden works to protect juniper park and the rest of the neighborhood. If it wasn't for his hard work, the park would be falling appart, no concerts, no police and much more. I think it's time for you (whoever you are) to come to a meeting and be more progressive than knocking people that help the neighborhood. Time
to grow up. Leave the dark alley way and show your support for your
community instead of taking cheap shots.

Not in favaor of a dog run.
BUT< if it becomes that there is one we also need dog police because people are NOT picking up after their dogs in this neighborhood and it is really disgusting. What should be a clen neighborhood if full of dog poop.

I don't care what Holden is for or against but I will tell you that I am against a dog run at Juniper or at any other NYC park. Parks are for people, not animals. Keep your dog on a leash and clean up after it. If you want to walk an animal in a NYC park, adopt a squirrel.

Why don't you at the Patriots say what Holden is for!

He is For Domestic Violence

He is For using Building Department officials to illegally convert his basement

He is For using his leadership position to save a family member from charges of Graffetti vandalism

The List Goes on>>>>>> Bob Holden a menace to society and a arrogant misfit.

Bob is now supporting the Dog run because Elizabeth Crowley supports one. Bob is now trying to dictate a location because he is fearful where Crowley will put one

What will Lorraine do she no longer can sit on her broom and take videos from her home of innocent park goers. maybe she will find time to hate someone or something else.

Beware Christine W may now roam the park to find her next meal. Watchout Hot dogs Shitzu's and Malteses.

The Patriots are half right on this one Bob Holden now wants a Dog Run. Why because he is forced to have one. Benepe, Lewendowski and Crowley now have the Power!

Poor Holden he has to go home and pout... watch out at home people could get hurt.

There are over one million dogs in New York City (I even read somewhere that it is closer to 1.5 million). Whatever. There are a lot of dogs and dog owners.

This post got me interested so I googled the issue. Turns out that the Parks Department says that dog owners are the single largest users of parks throughout the city.

Dog owners pay taxes too. I do not have a dog but if I did I would want a nice, safe place where my dog could play with other dogs.

When I travel, I see dog parks in other cities and places and they are always busy. My friend took me to one with her dog and it was nice.

Last week I was at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan and took a break with a walk on the new path along the East River. They have a brand new (I think) dog park there. People and dogs were having a great time.

Forget the past fights. I do not see why we can't have a dog park in Juniper Valley Park. I don't play baseball or hockey or any of the things where there are special facilities for park users, but I do not begrudge people for having them there. It helps our neighborhood.

There is plenty of room for a dog park in JVP. It would be a good community service if the civic association worked with the dog group to get one built.

And nasty comments about dog owners and dogs are uncalled for. If you do not like dogs, don't get one, but at least respect the rights of people to have pets.

I do not object to the good works that Mr. Holden does. I object to the manner in which he does them. Such as call 311 on your neighbor if they have a commercial vehicle in the driveway. Did Mr. Holden ever think to suggest talk with your neighbor, in these tough economic times maybe they can no longer afford a parking space.

When you disagree with him or the JPCA they just tell you to shut up or try to intimidate you, this is not how you should be treating your neighbors.

Anonymous said...

LOL! Whether or not they can afford a parking spot is not your concern or problem. You'll ring the bell, ask about why the van is parked there and your "neighbor" will tell you to mind your own business and go f*ck yourself. Then when you call 311, they'll know who did it.

"Benepe, Lewendowski and Crowley now have the Power!"

Um, yeah, Benepe and Lewandowski were always there and Crowley is in power because of Holden. You folks are freaking hilarious.

Is Pinky running Phony Tony Como's bid for City Council?

QC put up a post where the Juniper Civic is using the Vietnam veteran status of one of the Willets Point business owners to advance their own agenda. I posted a comment pointing out the hypocrisy of this, given the Juniper Civic's disrespectful treatment of Pat Toro and Vietnam vets during the controversy when Holden torpedoed a temporary memorial in Juniper Park. QC deleted my comments and refuses to show them.

The juniper civic is a hateful buch of oldtimers. and the word about them is spreading.

Anonymous said...

The word has already spread. Many have complained for years about the nasty JPCA executive board. They are out of touch with the community and are there to serve their own narrow minded, selfish interests.

How about all of you adults out there arguing back and forth like children get together and start doing things for our community. If you spenad all this time slandering each other you have way too much time on your hands.

Anonymous, he may have been on NY1 supporting a dog run on March 23, but that would be the first time he is supporting it.

For at least 10 years, I have heard about this guy and how he hates dogs and only loves baseball, which is why so much money was pumped into building the 7+ baseball diamonds in Juniper Park.

There is some half assed "dog run" at Juniper now, but it is not fenced in. How is that safe? It is not.

I can clearly remember a meeting at Our Lady of Hope that Bob Holden attended where is was adamant about not having a dog run at Juniper.

Can anyone tell me about a the park's dept. meeting being held at the park, On Monday April 20th. About the dog run?
