Killer Contractors?

Anonymous sources are stating that the NYC Fire department is reporting that contractors killed two of their bravest because of possible negligence. Even more disturbing is that city officials have issued violations for various reasons, including the improper storage of hazardous materials on the job site. This is another tragic example of contractors taking short cuts and ignoring safety measures to widen their profit margin. It also reveals the Department of Buildings inability to monitor and police the hundreds of construction projects happening throughout the city. No one else should have to die needlessly before the city and or the state does something to ensure that we have enough inspectors, enough resources, more stringent fines and severe punishment for contractors who violate the law.

The sad part about this is that it took the trsgic deaths of 2 of NYC Bravest for someone to take action.

This has been going on for quite some time. This goes back to Mayor Rudy who got tons of donations from Real Esate developers who skirted the law. City inspectors were told to back off. One city inspector who came down hard on one of Rudy's friends in Brooklyn, was trasfered to Staten Island after a call from the Mayor's office. Heck even the Command Center that all the professionals said should be at NY Plaza, was put in 7 World Trade Center as a favor to Rudy's friend Larry Silverstein.

How many stories have we heard of where workers are hurt or injured when walls come tumbling down. This is what happens when you give these developers carte balnche. Rules and regulations are in place to keep people safe, and more so, to hold them accountable when they aren't followed.

These guys should go to jail, and not some Club Fed. No, put them in the mix with the guys from the Crips, Bloods and Aryan Nation.

Lets see how long they last with those animals....

I am happy to hear that the Distict Attorney is opening up a criminal investigation. These two brave men should not die in vain.
