Dizzy Lizzy in a Tizzy over Fire House
NY 1 is reporting that Engine Company 271 in Ridgewood is one of the firehouses that will close due mandated cuts. However, if we had a seasoned, intelligent and respected elected official representing us in the City Council, Engine 271 might be saved from shutting its doors.
Here is Elizabeth Crowley's astute argument and intelligent appeal....
"It's lives, its lives lost. and when we think about our health care and our protection its the last place we should look for cuts."
Lord help us all. But if God is busy maybe Tom Ognibene can step in and help.

First of all, even though Engine 271 serves some of Councilwoman Crowley's constituents in Queens,271 is in Brooklyn - not in Councilwoman Crowley's district.
Secondly, the problem with the firehouse closings has to do with the Bloomberg Administration and the FDNY trying to fix a budget. Rather than taking pay cuts, they are closing the services that keep people safe. numerous firehouses have been closed throughout this city and 16 more will be closed by January, at least.
Maybe you should get your facts straight and focus more on issues and the big picture rather than sound bites...
Sounds like a primary between Ognibene and Nuziato
Ognibene wins in land slide.
shes an adiot and always has been. Thats why I fled Queens.
Out with the OLD and in with NEW!!!
Nuziato would wipe out Ognibene.
Hope he runs.
Out of mothballs, Ogni-has-been running for city council.
ogni-has-been needs to give it up. He materializes out of thin air threatening to sue the city. However, he has a "good relationship" with the mayor. All lies.
Ogni-has-been needs to quite and stop embarassing himself.
