Ada man surrenders in Garvin Co.

PAULS VALLEY -- An Ada man accused of nine counts of lewd acts or proposals to minors has surrendered to authorities.

23-year-old Eric Ulrich turned himself in to Garvin Co. Sheriff's Deputies yesterday.

The accusations stem from more than 300 text messages Ulrich apparently sent to two Stratford students, of ages 13 and 14, while he was working as a school bus driver.

The Sheriff's Office says Ulrich sent inappropriate and nasty comments to the two teenagers, over a 3 week period.

He spent Wednesday night in jail, and was released Thursday on a $50,000 bond.

Disgraced Politician Gets 10 Years In Jail

Former Assemblyman and discredited Labor Leader Brian McLaughlin was sentenced to 10 years in a federal prison and fined $25,000 Wednesday.

The 57-year-old pleaded guilty to racketeering charges in 2008, which included stealing $2.2 million in cash, getting free cars and taking money from a Little League Baseball organization financed by his own legislative member item funds.

According to published reports, Judge Richard Sullivan held back a sentence of 15 years because of McLaughlin’s cooperation with investigators into Assemblyman Anthony Seminerio’s (D-Richmond Hill) own corruption charges, as well as a case pending against Petrocelli Electric Company in Long Island City. Still, the reports indicated the judge held back little scorn when handing down his decision.

The sentencing marks the end of a political saga that began three years ago, when McLaughlin’s offices were raided by the FBI and pulled dozens of files and paperwork. Initial suspicions centered around his ties to two Queens electrical companies – Petrocelli and Welsbach – which maintain a large part of the City’s network of street and traffic lighting.

McLaughlin was indicted under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act in 2006. He was accused of defrauding Local 3, receiving bribes and embezzling funds from a number of sources, including a local Little League.

Petrocelli Electric Company was raided by federal investigators in 2006 in connection to the McLaughlin probe, which began as a bid rigging investigation into contracts awarded to Petrocelli’s company.

Petrocelli and Welsbach Electric of College Point held a combined $160 million in city contracts at the time of the probe, far more than their competitors.

McLaughlin worked as a part-time representative for Local 3 and served as president of the City’s Central Labor Council before his indictment in 2006.

The seven-term assemblyman announced he would not seek reelection just weeks before the probe began.

McLaughlin is also believed to have flipped on another associate during the course of the investigation, according to published reports. Assemblyman Anthony Seminerio (D-Glendale) was indicted in December after McLaughlin reportedly wore a wire to gather incriminating evidence against his former colleague.

Bus Driver Accused Of 'Sexting,' Touching Students

Deputies Searching For Eric Ulrich

GARVIN COUNTY, Okla. -- Deputies in Garvin County are searching for a former school bus driver accused of sending explicit text messages to two female students.

Prosecutors filed nine counts of lewd acts or proposal to a minor on Tuesday against 23-year-old Eric Ulrich, who was also a former reserve officer with the city of Mayesville.

Ulrich is also accused of inappropriately touching the two girls.

A mother Eyewitness News 5 talked to said her daughter is traumatized and that part of her innocence is lost. The family said it won’t feel better until Ulrich is in custody.

“I was furious. I mean, she is 14 years old. I couldn’t believe it that somebody would do something like that,” a victim’s mother said. She asked not to be identified to protect her daughter.

“She came to me first and she was afraid. No one would believe her. He was an adult. Who would do something like that?” the mother said.

Sheriff investigators said there were at least 300 text messages in all. The messages were mostly sexual in nature.

Deputies said that Ulrich sent sexually explicit photos to the girls. According to court documents, Ulrich asked the girls to perform sex acts on him.

The act went further, investigators said, when Ulrich tried to touch one of the girls while she slept on the bus.

“As soon as it happened, they told him to stop and he did so and complied. That was some of the point that made the young ladies go to their parents and tell them what was going on,” Garvin County Undersheriff Steve Brooks said.

Brooks credits the parents for trusting their children and taking action.

“I want him caught and put in jail so he doesn’t do this to somebody else,” the mother said.

Deputies said they hope Ulrich will turn himself in.

The court documents also show that Ulrich is married, but he allegedly told the girls he was going through a divorce. He is also has a 9-month-old daughter.

Sheriff investigators said they believe he is somewhere in the area, perhaps staying with family.

Stratford Schools fired Ulrich once it learned of the criminal investigation, as did the city of Mayesville.

Congressional Testimony: ‘Game-Changer’ Article Would Have Connected Campaign With ACORN

A lawyer involved with legal action against Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) told a House Judiciary subcommittee on March 19 The New York Times had killed a story in October that would have shown a close link between ACORN, Project Vote and the Obama campaign because it would have been a “a game changer.”

Heather Heidelbaugh, who represented the Pennsylvania Republican State Committee in the lawsuit against the group, recounted for the ommittee what she had been told by a former ACORN worker who had worked in the group’s Washington, D.C. office. The former worker, Anita Moncrief, told Ms. Heidelbaugh last October, during the state committee’s litigation against ACORN, she had been a “confidential informant for several months to The New York Times reporter, Stephanie Strom.”

Ms. Moncrief had been providing Ms. Strom with information about ACORN’s election activities. Ms. Strom had written several stories based on information Ms. Moncrief had given her.

During her testimony, Ms. Heidelbaugh said Ms. Moncrief had told her The New York Times articles stopped when she revealed that the Obama presidential campaign had sent its maxed-out donor list to ACORN’s Washington, D.C. office.

Ms. Moncrief told Ms. Heidelbaugh the campaign had asked her and her boss to “reach out to the maxed-out donors and solicit donations from them for Get Out the Vote efforts to be run by ACORN.”

Ms. Heidelbaugh then told the congressional panel:

“Upon learning this information and receiving the list of donors from the Obama campaign, Ms. Strom reported to Ms. Moncrief that her editors at The New York Times wanted her to kill the story because, and I quote, “it was a game changer.”’

Ms. Moncrief made her first overture to Ms. Heidelbaugh after The New York Times allegedly spiked the story — on Oct. 21, 2008. Last fall, she testified under oath about what she had learned about ACORN from her years in its Washington, D.C. office. Although she was present at the congressional hearing, she did not testify.

U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisc., the ranking Republican on the committee, said the interactions between the Obama campaign and ACORN, as described by Ms. Moncrief, and attested to before the committee by Ms. Heidelbaugh, could possibly violate federal election law, and “ACORN has a pattern of getting in trouble for violating federal election laws.”

He also voiced criticism of The New York Times.

“If true, The New York Times is showing once again that it is a not an impartial observer of the political scene,” he said. “If they want to be a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party, they should put Barack Obama approves of this in their newspaper.”

Academicians and journalism experts expressed similar criticism of the Times.

“The New York Times keeps going over the line in every single campaign and last year was the worst, easily,” said Mal Kline of the American Journalism Center. “They would ignore real questions worth examining about Obama, the questions about Bill Ayers or about how he got his house. Then on the other side they would try to manufacture scandals.”

Mr. Kline mentioned Gov. Sarah Palin was cleared by investigators of improperly firing an Alaska State Trooper, but went unnoticed by The Times.

“How many stories about this were in The New York Times,” he asked.

“If this is true, it would not surprise me at all. The New York Times is a liberal newspaper. It is dedicated to furthering the Democratic Party,” said Dr. Paul Kengor, professor of Political Science at Grove City College. “People think The New York Times is an objective news source and it is not. It would not surprise me that if they had a news story that would have swayed the election into McCain’s favor they would not have used it.”

ACORN has issued statements claiming that Ms. Moncrief is merely a disgruntled former worker.

“None of this wild and varied list of charges has any credibility and we’re not going to spend our time on it,” said Kevin Whelan, ACORN deputy political director in a statement issued last week.

Stephanie Strom was contacted for a comment, and The New York Times’ Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications Catherine Mathis replied with an e-mail in her place.

Ms. Mathis wrote, “In response to your questions to our reporter, Stephanie Strom, we do not discuss our newsgathering and won’t comment except to say that political considerations played no role in our decisions about how to cover this story or any other story about President Obama.”

According to City Hall News, Eric “the boy blunder” Ulrich has turned his back against the very people who were instrumental in getting him elected (even though everyone knows he will lose the seat in November).

In true Eric Ulrich fashion, the snot nose kid threw Phil Ragusa, Tom Ognibene and the rest of the Queens GOP under the bus by coming out early and supporting the Mayor before the county organization was unified in its endorsement. This surprised no one who knows Ulbitch because even though he is a kid, he has proven to be a self-interested, self-centered and self-serving piece of Elephant dung. Eric Ulrich is a party loyalist when it serves Eric and will cast aside his party affiliation for his own political expediency at the drop of the hat. He is a true hypocrite and two-faced politician.

When asked about his quick mayoral endorsement Eric Ulbitch stated, “I didn’t want to wait for the county to come out and do it, because then obviously it would be seen as me just following what the party does, I’m not into machine politics.”

We hope that Chairman Ragusa along with leaders of the Queens Republicans in all 5 boroughs remember this when the boy blunder needs to raise the needed funds and volunteers required to win re-election.

Thankfully, a billion dollars and hundreds of volunteers will still not enable Eric Ulrich to win re-election.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday accused the CIA of misleading Congress about its use of enhanced interrogation techniques on terror detainees.

"Yes I am saying the CIA was misleading the Congress, and at the same time the (Bush) administration was misleading the Congress on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, to which I said that this intelligence doesn't support the imminent threat," Pelosi said at her weekly news conference.

"Every step of the way the administration was misleading the Congress and that is the issue and that's why we need a truth commission," she said.

Under a barrage of questioning, Pelosi adamantly insisted that she was not aware that waterboarding or other enhanced interrogation techniques were being used on terrorism suspects.

"I am telling you they told me they approved these and said they wanted to use them but said they were not using waterboarding," she said.

Growing increasingly frustrated throughout the briefing, Pelosi slowly started backing away from the podium as she tried to end the questioning. As she backed out, she continued to accuse the CIA of not telling Congress that dissenting opinions had been filed within the administration suggesting the methods were not lawful.

The CIA immediately disputed Pelosi's accusation, saying the documents describing the particular enhanced interrogation techniques that had been employed are accurate. CIA spokesman George Little noted that CIA Director Leon Panetta made available to the House Intelligence Committee memos from individuals who led the briefings with House members.

"The language in the chart -- 'a description of the particular EITs that had been employed' -- is true to the language in the agency's records," Little said. "The chart I'm referring to is, of course, the list of member briefings on enhanced interrogation techniques."

Republicans also questioned Pelosi's charge.

"It's hard for me to imagine anyone in our intelligence area would ever mislead a member of Congress," House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, said at his weekly news conference. "They come to the Hill to brief us because they're required to under the law. I don't know what motivation they would have to mislead anyone."

The top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo., told FOX News that Pelosi's accusation against the CIA is "not credible."

"I am afraid she has disremembered what she went through," he said. "We have had not only the records from the CIA but the contemporaries who were there with her had other views on it, so I am afraid that this is not a credible explanation."

Pelosi said she was briefed only once on the interrogation methods in September 2002. She acknowledged that her intelligence aide, Michael Sheehy, informed her about another briefing five months later in which Bush officials said waterboarding was being used on CIA terror detainee Abu Zubaydah.

Pelosi said she supported a letter drafted by Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee who also attended the briefing in February 2003, and sent to the Bush administration, raising concerns over the technique.

Pelosi's account has changed several times in recent weeks as she has sought to clarify what she did or didn't know about the interrogation methods that she is pushing to investigate.

Pelosi said last month that she was never told that the controversial interrogation methods were being used. But a national intelligence report later showed that she was briefed seven years ago on the tactics while she was on the House Intelligence Committee.

Her spokesman then said the speaker thought the techniques were legal and that waterboarding was not used.

Democrats will hold a series of hearings on Justice Department memos released last month that justified rough tactics against detainees, including waterboarding and sleep deprivation.

While Democrats want the hearings to focus on what they call torture, Republicans have tried to turn the issue to their advantage by complaining that Pelosi and other Democrats knew of the tactics but didn't protest.

Democrats Quiet as Obama sends Additional Troops to Afghanistan

The peaceful diplomatic handshaking olive branch waving democrats are hypocritically silent today as President Barack Hussein Obama has approved a significant troop increase for Afghanistan.

The new troop deployment is expected to include 8,000 Marines from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, as well as 4,000 additional Army troops from Fort Lewis, Washington. According to the Defense Department, another 5,000 troops will be deployed at a later date to support combat troops, bringing the total to 17,000. The increased troop levels are expected to last three to four years, the military official said.

Where is the liberal outcry? Where are the anti-war protestors?

You really have to admire democrats and liberals for their steadfast hypocrisy.

Residents are extremely grateful for the efforts of Addabbo, Pheffer and Gulluscio. Some residents have stated that will save approximately $200 to $400 dollars a month because of the resident rebate.

When President Obama wants a hamburger he doesn't care about citizens or the environment, he needs to fill his belly with a cheeseburger at any cost.

Like a pregnant woman with a midnight craving, President Barack Hussein Obama ordered the presidential motorcade to start their engines because he had the fever for some beef, fries and a diet coke.

Local police, Secret Service vehicles, two or more limos, press vans, and a counterassault team raced to Ray’s Hells Burger so the President Obama could get his hands on a tasty burger. The carbon footprint caused by this lunchtime excursion made the local trash fill site look like Central Park. The motorcade caused traffic jams and created an impossible situation for local residents. But everything was O.K in the end because Obama ate his hamburger and was happy.

Maybe next time President Barack Hussein Obama can send a White House aide to save gas, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, reduce lunchtime traffic and no longer inconvenience the general public because the Obama wants a hamburger.

The other day Barack Obama realeased secret CIA documents showing that the Bush administration used enhanced interrogation techniques, ie waterboarding, to get information out of terrorists. When Dick Cheney heard about this he said fine, but if you want to release those documents showing the Bush administration used waterboarding. At least release the documents showing what information was attained form these tactics.

Release the documents that show how the United States foiled a plot to blow up a building in Los Angeles, saving thousands of American lives by using waterboarding. Show that we foiled a plot to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge, saving thousands more American lives by using waterboarding.

Barack Obama doesn't want to release THOSE documents though. Why? Because this is a political witch hunt. Barack Obamas sole agenda in the White House is to legitimize countries like Cuba, Iran and Venezuela and de-legitimize this country. His sole agenda is to prop-up dictators like Castro, Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez and knock down former President George Bush. He wants to excuse the atrocities committed by these dictators. The cutting off of hands and feet. The cutting off of heads. The killing of people who did not agree with them politically. And he wants to hold George Bush accountable for dunking peoples heads underneath the water for a couple of seconds. Are you freaking kidding me?!!

What does Barack Obam and these freaking liberals intend to do in interrogations? How do they plan to get information out of terrorists? I'll tell you what they plan to do... Elizabeth Crowley Blows Off the Maspeth Community

Elizabeth Crowley didn’t feel that it was important to attend a meeting to discuss the School Construction Authority‘s (SCA) site remediation plan for the new Maspeth High School. We know that Crowley hates Bob Holden (c’mon folks who doesn’t) but being an elected official you must rise above petty differences and listen to your constituents. The hardworking people of Maspeth deserve to have their representatives at the meeting (not Tony ShamefulBuildaBallfiledonToxicsite Avella).

We know Dizzy Lizzy has the backbone of a jellyfish and tries to avoid any uncomfortable situation that might make her look bad. But the problem for Crowley is that no matter where she goes she looks bad. People who hear her speak wonder how many drinks she has had before arriving (usually late) to meetings.

By not showing up and sending her sacrificial lamb aka Lydon Sleeper to the meeting, she is sending a message to her constituents. “I will only come to meetings if there is a ribbon to cut, a baby to kiss, an animal to pet, a senior to smile at and if I don’t have to say a word.”

Eric Ulrich Lying to Community and the Press?

In a recent press release issued on April 22nd, Ulrich announced that as part of a budget modification vote, the City Council voted to preserve funding for the city’s 59 Community Boards for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2009. The original plan to cut $295,000 in funding to community boards would have negatively affected their operations citywide. Ulrich also pledge to fight to preserve full funding for our community boards during the upcoming negotiations for the FY 2010 budget.

According to sources, this vote never happened and it is a complete fabrication by Eric Ulrich. Moreover, the Office of Management and Budget stated that the $295,000 cut restoration that Councilman Ulbitch is referring to was restored last December during the adoption of the November Plan. It was a proposed $5000 cut for each community board in FY 2009.

Eric Ulrich is proving to be the manipulative, lying, cheat that we knew he was.
