Eric Ulrich distorts the lines between Church and State

Eric Ulrich distorts the lines between Church and State

Throughout history it has always been a dangerous practice when political figures utilize the church or religion for their own personal gain or political expediency. In the recent special election for the 32nd Council District held on February 24th, 2009, Eric Ulrich strong armed members of the clergy to assist him in his quest for world domination.

Here is a very interesting letter from a member of the clergy that states he seeks Eric’s advice and counsel. I guess God must be on vacation or the Pope is no longer taking phone calls. The clergyman even goes so far as to infer that Eric shares OUR values! This is only true if our values are misogyny, racism, greed, malice and lying.

FROM THE DESK OF
FR. PAUL C. PALMIOTTO

February, 2009

Dear Parishioner,

As you may already know, there will be a very important Special Election on Tuesday, February 24th for Member of the City Council.

My good friend and parishioner Eric Ulrich is a candidate for this position, which became vacant when Joe Addabbo was elected to the State Senate last fall.

Since becoming Pastor at Nativity B.V.M. I have come to rely on Eric Ulrich’s advice and counsel. He is a bright young man who serves a lector at Sunday Mass and is also very involved with the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. Whenever this parish needs help, Eric is always there.

There is no doubt in my mind that that when he is elected to the City Council, he will be an effective leader and someone we can be proud of. He shares our values and will do what he thinks is right.

While the church cannot officially endorse any candidate for public office, I would like you to know that I am personally supporting Eric Ulrich and you to consider doing the same.

Sincerely,

Fr. Paul C. Palmiotto

P.S. If you would like to discuss with me my reasons for voting for Eric Ulrich, please feel free to contact me at the rectory during regular business hours.

It is about time the church got involved with a candidate. But why Eric he is a nasty man who is mean spirited and hates woman. I know he likes little boys so I may understand now.

"Render unto Caesar..." Mixing religion and politics just makes a mess. Getting handed an Ulrich flyer INSIDE my church cost him my vote.

So what's wrong with the letter from Fr. Palmiotto??? If it was written by the Grand Rebbi, no one would be complaining.

In fact, most of the politicos actively seek and solicit the endorsement of certain Rabbis and Orthodox Sects.

Just another example of a double standard.

Come on Patrick Henry, you are better than this!!!!
