Q: What are your immediate plans upon being sworn in as a Councilman?

A: First I need to take down that big intrusive sign that is pasted on the A Train El Station, and then I think I may go to Disney because I love Mickey Mouse.

Q: Where will you open your district office?

A: I will open two district offices, one in Astoria and the other in the Bahamas.

Q: How will you staff your district offices?

A: I’m trying to hire all the people that I owe political favors obviously, people know that I am a seat warmer and I need to start my campaign and use city resources for my personal political expediency like I have done do many times in the past. I also plan to hire bilingual staffers because there are many illegal immigrants living in the district who voted for me in the past election even though they are not “technically” American citizens.

Q: Which are the top three council committees on which you would like to sit?

A: Transportation, transportation, transportation. Transportation is going to play a very key role because I am not old enough to drive yet and my grandmother uses her car to go to bingo. It’s not finance because I have no idea what the finance committee does, it’s not land use because I don’t know what they do either except for using land for things, it’s not the big three or the big two or even the big one ... that most councilmen (I used the word councilmen and not councilperson because I am a misogynist pig) would go for, but for me it’s absolutely a gold metro card. Because whether it’s Ozone Park or whether it’s Rockaway, is Howard beach part of my district? transportation is the number-one issue. Whereas transportation five or 10 years ago, you know, what just a nominal committee in the council, (I was only three ten years ago but I read somewhere that it was nominal) I think it’s going to merge as one of the premier committees. Secondary ones — parks is very important to my constituents and to me, and then education is very important. I really like to feed the pigeons and play ring around the rosy with my peers.

Q: The mayor will attend your swearing-in ceremony to be held later this month in Howard Beach. What is the benefit of having him there?

A: Bringing the mayor to the community shows a number of things. It shows that the Mayor doesn’t know yet that Tom Ognibene is my BFF (best friend forever) and is plotting to overthrow the Mayor. Number one: it shows that I can kiss ass with the big boys, c’mon just look at my mentors. Number two: it shows that I’m a two-faced ignorant political hack and afraid I am just a seat warmer and need to bring in the big guns and extremely desperate to established relationship with the most powerful person in the City of New York.

Q: What are your priorities for the months you’ll serve on the Council?

A: Open an office with a cotton candy machine and one of those neat round tables so I can be like King Arthur, address the peasants’ ( I mean residents) concerns, constituent complaints when I figure out how to. Right now there is no city councilman (person). When we had the snowstorm [on Monday] they had nobody to call up and say, “My street hasn’t been plowed yet.” ... So my office gave them Lew Simon’s number. There are immediate needs that my community has that aren’t being met by me or my staff. There are local issues that need to be addressed but I really don’t have the time right now because we are looking at paint swatches. People have nowhere to turn to and I have to be that nowhere or do nothing person. Surprisingly, they’ve put that trust in me and in for a rude awakening.

Q: What are some projects you hope to start working on once in office?

A: I need to get a handle on my unibrow, so a complete waxing. I am going to use all my Lego’s to build a greenhouse in Forest Park, I want some new streets, particularly on Sesame Street so Elmo can have a bike path to get to work, getting new artificial trees in the district, staffing the beaches in Rockaway with the cast of Baywatch, repairing the Rockaway boardwalk with recycled toilet seats, extending the beach hours. We need to repair the infrastructure in my community. One of the things I’d like to spearhead is the fight against graffiti vandalism by promoting finger painting. We could take away that impression of lawlessness, of a ghetto not that I’m prejudice or anything but all the ghettos I have been to have no law.. We could also increase people’s property values by keeping the ghettos in the ghetto and it would be reinvesting taxpayer money back into the community for the common good.

Q: Are you confident you can accomplish your goals? Will your achievements help you win the November election?

A: I have no personal life and resemblance to a personal life is purely fictional. I’m not even from Earth, I’m a visitor from outer space. Monday through Tuesday I’m out there everyday, two days a week three hours a day! But if you have the zeal and a passion to serve your self interests and blind political obsessions and this is what you’re called to do ... then you’ll do it well. My re-election is dependent on how much taxpayer resources I can steal and pray that Frank Gulluscio is appointed Secretary of the Interior by Obama. If I don’t deliver favors to my Republican colleagues, I’m out of a job. And I think that’s a good thing ... the voters have put me to warm Gulluscio’s chair until November, they’ve challenged me to keep it real warm. ... Now they’re saying, “How many days until the November Election?.” [Accomplishing the above-mentioned goals is a way] to show people that I’m incapable to be an effective ombudweiserman for them and that I’m not able to deliver anything. That I’m not worth re-electing. Honestly, I don’t deserve to be re-elected. I understand that and the voters understand that. It’s a temporary toleration of my loathsome existence.

Bartender and his boss foil two convenience store burglars

A Middle Village bartender and his boss - a retired city cop - foiled two burglars escaping a convenience store Monday with stolen cash, cigars and DVDs, law enforcement sources said.
Christopher Jump, 38, and ex-NYPD Officer Michael Kelly, 37, pinned down the suspects until cops came to arrest them at 4:40a.m., according to Meris Campbell, a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

The suspects, Jose Gonzalez and Raymond Manning, both 43, were charged with burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief and possessing stolen property and an unlawful radio device, Campbell said.

Sources identified the device as a police scanner, which the crooks were likely using to keep an ear out for cops in the neighborhood. The duo's plot began to unravel when Kelly, owner of Kelly's Pub on Eliot Ave. near Caldwell Ave., called Jump at 4 a.m. to remind him to lock the back door before closing for the night.

After they hung up, Jump heard two voices and - believing the men were on the pub's roof - quickly dialed Kelly, who lives nearby. Kelly dressed, grabbed his 9-mm. handgun and rushed to the pub just in time to spot the crooks exiting a back window a few doors down at D&P Stationery.

"They looked like deer in headlights," said Kelly, a cop for five years in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, until he retired in 2005. "They were scared, and they just took off running."

Kelly chased the burglars to an alley behind the pub, where he and Jump forced them to the ground at gunpoint.

Moments later, Manning feigned back pain - hoping Kelly would let his guard down - and dashed off with the ex-cop in pursuit.

"It kinda just instinctively took over - reverting back to when I was a police officer," said Kelly, who found Manning hiding beneath a car a few blocks away on 81st St.

Meanwhile, Jump noticed Gonzalez was fidgeting.

"He looked like he was contemplating running himself because his buddy just got away," Jump recalled. "I picked up a shovel and said, 'Look, buddy, you're not going anywhere.'"

Cops later discovered a garbage can full of stolen merchandise on a hand truck near the convenience store.

A NYC politician's new office gets a stop work order. The reason she never applied for permits to do the work. Just had someone go in and redo the location, until hit with a STOP work order. This might sound familiar because the person she beat in the last election also was doing work on his house with out proper permits. So basically the same old same old. And to top it all the person who was backed by some NYC unions had NON-UNION workers doing the work. Who is this Council person you ask????

The winner is................. Elizabeth Crowley New York City Council - Council Member - District: 30. The office address on the above link is the address of the old member and is now vacant. Her office is going to open on Dry Harbor Road & 80th Street. Once she gets the correct paper work.

I forgot to ask this question... Do you think this is going to make at least the local papers in her district since it probably won't make the NY daily papers (ie..won't be in these Daily News, NY Post or The Times). But one of the local News stations hounded the council member that lost the last election for at least a few days at his office and then his home seeking a comment on not getting proper permits on work at his home. Well Mrs. Crowley what's your comment on this??? That's a rhetorical question because I doubt she reads the RANT. haha!

The Four Horseman of the Queens Republican Apocalypse

These four guys are killing the Republican party in Queens.

Since the election of Phil Rugasa, the Republican Party has completely fallen apart. Gone is State Senator Serphin Maltese along with the New York State Senate majority. Gone are the days where 3 Republican Council members admirably represented Queens County. Gone are the days where competitive elections were run for State Assembly, Congress and City Council. Gone is the enthusiasm for assisting our presidential candidates. With our Republican Party being torn apart at the seams, Phil Rugasa and his handpicked political cronies are now trying to cross endorse Democrats to run on the Republican line. Is that the way to build our embattled county? Republican Party once stood on principles and values which we cherished.

We may not have won all the elections, but we held our head up high and fought for what we truly believed in. Phil Rugasa and his political puppets are hell bent on destroying what we have stood for since the days of Ronald Reagan. No wonder why the Republican Party is failing so miserably.

The only candidate they choose to fully support is 23 year old political neophyte who will do more harm to true republicanism and set us further back should the electorate be fooled by his false persona.

Elizabeth Crowley Violates Stop Work Order (AGAIN!)

It is obvious that Elizabeth Crowley doesn't understand what a Stop Work Order actually means. So we will explain it to her in terms that she understands.

Gazette Endorses Ricatto

Ricatto, 52 and a resident of Ozone Park, has been for most of his adult life a small business owner. The reason he is running, he has said, is to apply what he has learned as a businessman to running the city government. He would be a watchdog over the city's billion dollar expenditures each year, looking to eliminate unnecessary wasteful, duplicative, and overpriced payments for city services.

This is especially true, he feels, in bad economic times and during a recession. The Gazette agrees heartily.

Ricatto is a Republican but he will be listed first on Tuesday's ballot, not as a Republican but under the slogan, "Voice of the People". Party affiliations are not listed on ballots in special elections. Candidates for the elections will be listed from left to right; therefore, Ricatto will be listed first on the far left of the ballot. He earned that placement by being the first candidate to submit his nominating petitions.

Ricatto and three other candidates are running to replace former Councilmember Joseph Addabbo Jr., who was elected last November to the state senate.

The district includes Ozone Park and Howard Beach, Woodhaven, Broad Channel and parts of the Rockaways.

Where's Elizabeth 'Waldo' Crowley?

Looks like Elizabeth Crowley is thumbing her nose at the residents of the 30th Council District. After being in office for 47 days (winning the elections on the coat tails of Obama 104 days ago) she still does not have a district office up and running.

Where are the cries of Robert Holden and the JPCA, where are Christina Wilkinson and the Queens Crap and where are all the local papers? Shouldn’t residents be made aware that their local council person has failed to adequately represent them?

We believe that the 30th Council district deserved representation in the city council from day one yet Crowley had floundered, faltered and failed from day one. Let’s face it folks; she has been abject disappointment from the onset.

· She squatted in the old offices of Councilmen Gallagher and Como after publicly stating she would never do that.

· She publicly condemned Grover Cleveland High School.

· She allowed the Department of Education to build a high School on Grand Avenue that will not be locally zoned.

· She has no district office after 47 days in office.

· She has received a stop work order on her new district office located at 64-77 Dry Harbor Road.

· The Stop Work Order has still not been lifted.

· Constituents are told to call 311 to register complaints because there is nothing her office can do.

· Constituents are refused meetings because there is no district office to meet in.

Unfortunately, time will only tell how much worse things are going to get.

The silver lining is that Elizabeth Crowley will only be in office for another 259 days before we vote her out and she can go back to being an imaginary painter and educator!

Eric Ulrich Turned 12 Yesterday!

A Belated Happy Birthday to Eric Ulrich who turned 12 yesterday and has finally hit puberty!

We feel extremely bad that the news is reporting that courts did not give Eric 'the boy blunder" Ulbitch an early birthday present on Tuesday. It is being reported that Mike Ricatto is still on the ballot despite Eric Ulrich and Tom Ognibene's attempt to remove him.

Eric is even throwing a temper tantrum that Ricatto's name will appear first on the ballot!

Looks like things are heating up in the 32nd Council District.

Apparently, there was a debate last night and our good friend Eric Ulbitch is showing everyone on the peninsula that we mainlanders already know, he's an idiot.

Dear Patrick Henry,I noticed that you have been posting about the upcoming special election in the 32nd Council district and wanted to write you regarding a debate I attended yesterday evening. First, I want to state that I am supporter of Glen Diresto who today was removed from the ballot by Geraldine Chappey. That said, Glen Diresto did a wonderful job last night discussing the issues and answering the questions posed by the panel and residents. Geraldine Chappey came off like a wicked witch, Lew Simon like a raving lunatic and Eric Ulrich like a snot nose kid who thinks he knows it all. Mr. Ricatto was engaging and the only one who spoke with me about Mr. Diresto's unfortunate situation.

Geraldine Chappey has a lot of questions to answer about her bus company's dealings and accusations of the misappropriation of government funding. She also must answer for the despicable witch hunt against Glen Diresto and Frank Gulluscio.

Lew Simon once again proved he is a raving lunatic and will once again lose his bid for elected office.

Eric Ulrich surprised me by telling the audience all the things a councilperson cannot do and very little on what he was going to do. He was pompous, arrogant and angry.

Mike Ricatto has a lot of work to do getting his name known by peninsula residents.

I believe I will be staying home during this election because I am disgusted.

Chappey uses Ognibene and Ulrich tactics sucessfully

According to initial reports, Frank Gulluscio, the 32nd Council district leading candidate has been thrown off the ballot. Geraldine Chappey used legal tactics to eliminate her competiton like the "boy blunder" is trying to do Michael Ricatto, a rising force in the election.


32nd Council Candidate Uses Lawyer, Not Votes, To Eliminate the Competition

Geraldine Chapey eliminates front runner Frank Gulluscio over legal technicality; the will of thousands of voters rendered null before having a chance to vote.


Howard Beach, Queens- In a stunning judgment today, the front runner for Joe Addabbo's council seat, Frank Gulluscio, was thrown off of the ballot by his opponent, Geraldine Chapey, because of a legal technicality about the nature in which his validating petition was served.

The candidate quickly cried foul stating that, "the idea that this is a system meant to uphold democracy is preposterous when the signatures of thousands of voters can be rendered meaningless by a legal technicality. We must demand that we have a system where the will of the people cannot be overturned by lawyers."



"Geraldine Chapey has been on what can only be described as a witch hunt, dragging her opponents into court, causing us hours of wasted time and thousands of dollars in lawyer's fees. She obviously feels that the only way she can win is to eliminate the competition using her lawyer, rather than in a fair election by the will of the people. I cannot imagine that the voters of the 32nd Council District would want to be represented by someone like that."



The trial was originally scheduled today because Chapey's team was claiming Gulluscio did not have enough signatures to make it on the ballot. Gulluscio had vehemently denied this claim and came into court prepared with hundreds of signatures that he felt had been knocked off erroneously. However, before they had the chance to make their case, the judge threw out the entire case because of what she felt was an error in the service of the validating petition. "Although I am disappointed by the tactics employed by my opponent, I look forward to pursuing all options to allow me to continue to serve the people of the 32nd Council District."

Eddie Munster Ulrich Scaring Ozone Park Residents

People driving Northbound on Crossbay boulevard are frightened each time they cross under the A train 'el' station because looming above is a gigantic audacious self-serving billboard of Eddie Munster Eric Ulrich.

His widow-peaked hair do, uni-brow and devilish grin send chills up the spin of the poor people of Ozone Park and Howard Beach.

Don't despair my friends, you only have to look at the monstrosity for another 19 days.

Chappey and Ognibene a match Made in Hell

According to news reports, the Chappey and Ognibene Camps (he's pulling Howdy Doody Ulrich's strings) are trying to throw opposition candidates off the ballot through dirty legal tactics rather than letting voters decide who will represent them.

Apparently fear and desperation are driving this last ditch feeble legal efforts by Chappey and Ognibene who are struggling to get their weakening campaigns a shot in the arm.

You really have to love to the democratic process here in Queens.

After BOE shake-up remaining candidates vie for 32nd Council seat

Less than three weeks before Queens residents from Woodhaven to the Rockaways cast their ballots for State Senator Joe Addabbo, Jr.'s City Council replacement, the field of contenders has apparently been whittled down to four.

Conspicuously absent on polling lists throughout the 32nd Council District during the February 24 special election could be Community Board 6 District Manager Frank Gulluscio. The self-proclaimed "known entity" with the most experience among the candidates, Gulluscio was widely considered the favorite to win the council spot. But his petitions for inclusion on the ballot - each candidate had to file 1,100 signatures by January 15 - were invalidated because they contained a star, an overt Democratic Party symbol according to a bipartisan Board of Elections (BOE) committee, sources at a February 3 BOE hearing said. In the special election, all candidates were to run as Independents.

"Our campaign continues to move forward towards victory on February 24," Gulluscio said in a statement, pledging to appeal the BOE ruling in court on February 9 and condemning the "cheap tricks" used by some of his opponents.

Also missing from voting registries will likely be Sam Di Bernardo, a former teacher and real estate executive, who, at 74, and without big-party backing, called himself "the underdog." Di Bernardo, too, was ruled out "on a technicality," he said, after the BOE and a conflict of interest board voted that they could not determine from his petitions what district he was running in. He plans to challenge the ruling.

Elizabeth Crowley Violates Stop Work Order

Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley still does not have a District office up and running after being in office for 32 days. To add insult to injury she has conducted office renovations without the proper building permits, has received a STOP WORK ORDER and on Sunday blatantly violated the SWO by having workers sneak into the office early in the morning.

However, a concerned resident called 311 and police responded immediately and escorted the non-union workers off the premises. Elizabeth Crowley has proven one again that she will circumvent the law for own political expediency. We hope that the Department of Investigations conducts an investigation of her pitiful actions during her first month in office. Hardworking taxpayers should not have to pay for her shortcomings and her in adequate representation.

Tragedy in Middle Village

A joy ride in a stolen car turned deadly Sunday in Queens when a drunken driver struck and killed a teenager and a young man walking together, police said.The two had been coming from a birthday party in Middle Village, said the parents of Robert Ogle, 16, who died at the scene. Alex Paul, 20, of Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, died hours later at Elmhurst Hospital.

"You can't even have imagined this," said Robert's father, Brendan Ogle, from his Middle Village home with his wife, Mei, as they struggled to cope with the loss of his eldest child. "This is the worst thing we have ever dealt with."According to his parents, Robert, a junior at Brooklyn Tech High School, left around 7 p.m. to see a movie and then go to a friend's birthday party a few blocks from his home.

It was unclear if Ogle and Paul knew each other, but according to police they left the party around 1:15 a.m. and had walked a half block to the intersection of Eliot Avenue and 80th Street.

There, police said, a silver, four-door sedan driven by Kenneth Guyear, 27, of Queens, ran them over.Authorities said Guyear stole the car while it was idling outside a deli at Woodhaven Boulevard and Alderton Street. After the crash, police said he tried to flee the scene, but was arrested after a police search about a half-mile from the crash site near the deli.

After attending a party on Long Island, Guyear had gone to his brother's house in Queens. While walking, he came upon the running car outside the deli, authorities said.

Guyear had a blood-alcohol level of .126, well above the legal limit of .08. He is charged with assault, two counts of first-degree vehicular manslaughter, two counts of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while intoxicated, criminally negligent homicide, grand larceny and driving without a license.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Queens Criminal Court.At the home where the Middle Village party was held, a woman who would not give her name said she had just returned from vacation. She said her son had celebrated his birthday over the weekend. But she said she was shocked to learn of the party and the accident.Paul's landlord, Brigme Balkissoon, said in the two months he lived in her building, she remembers him working at a nearby Popeye's chicken eatery and would often see him with his girlfriend."He was a good kid," Balkissoon said. "He never bothered anybody."Sitting around the dining room table at their modest home, Ogle's parents and younger brother, Sean, 15, described a young man who worked part-time at New York Hall of Science, a hands-on science museum in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.

In school, he was a good student who had immersed himself in extracurricular activities, including the student debating society, and had aspirations of being a journalist, Brendan Ogle said."He was always a leader," he said. "He was very talented and that talent kept growing and growing as he got older."For the Super Bowl last night, his parents had rented a big-screen TV for Robert and his friends to watch the game.

"He was a big-time Mets fan and loved all sports," Brendan Ogle said.Sunday night, the flat screen television sat in the basement, turned off.Pervaiz Shallwani contributed to this story.

Looks like Elizabeth Crowley still does not have her district office up and running. To add insult to injury, she is renovating her new district office located at 64-77 Dry Harbor Road without the proper permits from the Department of Buildings. There are numerous complaints against the illegal construction. One complaint states that she is creating a dangerous situation for pedestrians and school children. Today the DOB has issued a StopWork Order because or the illegal construction. Looks like the new Councilwoman has no clue about DOB procedure. What a mess!

Hey, let's look on the bright side, we only have to put up with her for another 278 days and then we can vote her out of office.

Elizabeth Crowley Off To a Slow Illegal Start

The new councilwoman for the 30th District is off to a slow and illegal start to what will be a very short stint in city politics. Councilwoman Dizzy Lizzy Crowley who won the election in November thanks to the Obama wave has yet to have a district office up and running to service her constituents.

In classic Elizabeth Crowley style, she is now squatting in the former office of Councilman Como and Councilman Dennis Gallagher after publicly stating that she would never use that office. Adding insult to injury, she blatantly violated the law by placing campaign posters in the window that we the taxpayers own.

It is clear that the residents of the 30th Council district are in big trouble and will have a representative in the city council that is clueless, useless and careless. However, for those of us in the blogosphere, she will most certainly give us so much to write about.

OOOOPS! DID ELIZABETH CROWLEY DO IT AGAIN?

An email was sent to the Juniper Park Patriots with some interesting information regarding Councilwoman elect Elizabeth Crowley’s campaign finance expenditures. It appears that she paid $1800 dollars in rent to a company owned by her family (Surprisingly, she paid much lees for office space located in Atlas Park). Ready to Learn is was paid money for rent, however, the corporation does not own the building located at 67-52 79th Street. The building is owned by the Crowley family who is in arrears on their property taxes. Thankfully, when Liz pays the rent for the months of September, October and November they will be back in the black and actually turn a profit of $2248.02.

There are quite a few interesting expenditures and many contributions that may raise some eyebrows. Don’t take our word for it, see for yourself.

Is there a possible conflict of interest here?

Questionable Associations of Obama

According to The Associated Press, in his life and career in Illinois, President-elect Barack Obama has crossed paths with some notable figures who have drawn scorn and scrutiny. The mainstream liberal media has continuously ignored many of these associations. They rather talk about how many shoes and what dresses Sarah Palin has purchased

Let us take a good look at these questionable associations:

GOV. ROD BLAGOJEVICH: Obama has maintained a cordial but distant relationship with Blagojevich during the governor's tenure.

He has complimented Blagojevich for running "a sound administration" with "the right priorities." He supported his fellow Democrat for re-election in 2006, even though the governor backed someone else over Obama in the U.S. Senate Democratic primary.

Obama's circle of major Illinois political allies and supporters is largely separate from Blagojevich's, with two major exceptions. Both Obama and Blagojevich got extensive money and support from Chicago businessman Antoin "Tony" Rezko. At least one top aide to Obama, Michael Strautmanis, previously worked for Blagojevich.

But Blagojevich's disdain for Obama was clear in court documents released Tuesday after the Illinois governor was arrested. Blagojevich, accused by federal prosecutors of conspiring to sell or trade for personal benefits the Senate seat left vacant by Obama, was overheard complaining at one point that Obama's people are "not going to give me anything except appreciation." He added: "(Expletive) them."

Obama said Tuesday, "I had no contact with the governor or his office, and so I was not aware of what was happening."

ANTOIN REZKO: "Tony" Rezko, who raised money for the campaigns of both Obama and Blagojevich, is awaiting sentencing after being convicted in June on charges of using clout with Blagojevich's administration to help launch a $7 million kickback scheme.

The charges have no connection to Obama, but Rezko is tied to the Illinois senator in other ways.
Rezko and his family donated at least $21,457 to Obama and helped raise over $200,000 more, though not for his presidential bid. He also advised Obama on the purchase of a new Chicago home and, in his wife's name, purchased a vacant lot next door to the new Obama home when the seller wanted to dispose of both properties at the same time. Rezko then sold a slice of the property to Obama.

Obama has donated Rezko's contributions to charity and says it was a mistake to work with Rezko on buying the house.

JEREMIAH WRIGHT: Wright was Obama's minister for 20 years. He helped Obama embrace Christianity, performed Obama's marriage, and baptized Obama and his two daughters.

Wright was known for thundering "God Damn America" in clips that dominated cable television news programs for weeks last spring. Wright accused the government of creating AIDS.

Obama has done his best to distance himself from his former minister, to the point of resigning from the church that Wright once led.

Wright's comments were a stumbling block for Obama's campaign. In an impassioned speech about faith and race, the Democrat at first expressed support for Wright, saying that "I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother."

But six weeks later during a speech at the National Press Club, Wright offered eyebrow-raising opinions about the U.S. government, praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and hinted that Obama was distancing himself from the pastor for political expediency.
The next day, Obama said he was outraged and denounced Wright's remarks.

WILLIAM AYERS: Today, Ayers is a university professor and a member of Chicago's intellectual establishment. Forty years ago he was a member of the Weather Underground, a radical group that claimed responsibility for a series of bombings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol.

Ayers was a fugitive for years with his wife, fellow radical Bernadine Dohrn. But after surrendering in 1980, the charges against Ayers were dropped because of prosecutorial misconduct.

Obama had a very limited relationship with Ayers, who lives in the same neighborhood. They served together on the board of a Chicago charity, and in the mid-1990s when Obama first ran for office; Ayers hosted a meet-the-candidate session for Obama at his home.

Ayers was front and center in GOP claims that Obama was "palling around with terrorists," as Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin put it.

Obama has condemned Ayers' radical activities, and there's no evidence they ever were close friends or that Ayers advised Obama on policy.

Ayers said in November that he hardly knew Obama. "I think my relationship with Obama was probably like thousands of others in Chicago. And, like millions and millions of others, I wish I knew him better," Ayers said in a newspaper interview.

EMIL JONES: Jones, the president of the Illinois Senate, amounts to Obama's political godfather and was an important part of Obama's long shot victory for U.S. Senate in 2004. He helped the little-known politician meet the right people, and he picked Obama to handle high-profile legislation during the two years leading up to the election.

But Jones' political style is very different from Obama's.

Jones is known for steering state money to a few favored institutions, including some that employ his relatives. Several of his relatives have gotten state jobs, and his wife's government salary jumped 60 percent after he became Senate president. He has played an important role in blocking ethics legislation in Illinois.

When Jones announced last summer that he would retire from the Illinois Senate when his term ends in January, an Obama campaign spokesman said "Jones has been a passionate advocate who has fought for working families and the underprivileged."
Jones was considered a possible successor to Obama in the Senate.

RASHID KHALIDI: Khalidi is a scholar and author on Middle Eastern affairs who has criticized Israeli policies and was part of a Palestinian advisory panel to peace talks in the early 1990s.
He's also a friend of Obama.

They met while both were teaching at the University of Chicago and living in the same neighborhood. Obama and his wife, Michelle, sometimes had dinner with Khalidi and his wife, Mona. The Khalidis hosted a political fundraiser for Obama in 2000, and the Woods Fund charity gave money to the Arab-American Action Network, run by Mona Khalidi, while Obama served on the charity's board.

Khalidi and Obama have both said they hold very different opinions on Israeli issues, but their friendship has been used to raise questions about Obama's support for Israel — and to generate Internet headlines such as "Meet Obama's Terrorist Friend."
Late in the 2008 presidential campaign, the Republican nominee, John McCain, and Palin criticized Obama for attending a 2003 party for Khalidi. Obama's campaign dismissed the complaints, saying Khalidi was not an adviser to him and that Obama does not share Khalidi's views.

MICHAEL PFLEGER: Pfleger, a Roman Catholic priest in Chicago, has been known as a firebrand for years. He has protested over a wide range of issues, including gun shops and Jerry Springer. Obama has referred to him as a spiritual adviser.
Last spring, Pfleger visited Obama's church and preached a sermon in which he mocked Hillary Rodham Clinton and accused her of expecting to win the presidential nomination because she was white. Pfleger apologized, but Obama condemned the remarks and resigned from the church.

Eric Ulrich Abuses Board of Elections Position

According the NY Daily News Eric Ulbitch has been strong arming fellow employees for campaign contributions. In addition, insiders say that "Eric the Boy Blunder" used Board of Election equipment, materials, resources and information to assist his campaign.

In next year's City Council election, Eric Ulrich, a part-time board employee, has raised $1,405 this year from his fellow board employees.

He has also indulged in another board specialty - working for campaigns on the side.

This fall, the Queens Republican ran GOP candidate Tony Nunziato's bid for a City Council seat and received $900 in "wages" from Thomas Ognibene for his Council run.

Records show board employees are often paid by campaigns. Take Pamela Perkins, the board's $125,646-a-year administrative manager.

In 2005, she got $2,000 from her husband, state Sen. Bill Perkins, during his failed run for Manhattan borough president. In 2006 and 2007, she got three more payments totaling $1,833.53 from his campaigns.

Meanwhile, Parnell Sena got $269 a week ($2,419) for nine weeks from July through mid-September 2005 from Sen. Perkins. Days after the payments stopped, Sena got a $27,111-a-year job as clerk to the board.

Besides coughing up campaign checks or working for campaigns, multiple board employees work for the political parties, records and interviews reveal. The city charter separates politics from public service by barring city officials from holding party positions such as district leaders.
Not so at the city Board of Elections.

The Conflicts of Interest Board has ruled that board employees can run for party positions, and a review of records found at least 30 current employees are either Democratic or Republican district leaders.

That includes Commissioners Gregory Soumas, a Manhattan Democrat, and Juan Carlos Polanco, a Bronx Republican. Both work full time, Soumas as a lawyer and Polanco as $115,541-a-year Assembly employee for the GOP minority. (In contrast, the state board of elections bars its commissioners from public employment).

It is Time For a Dog Run In Juniper Park

Let's not let Robert Holden and his band of rat lovers prevent the community of Middle Village from getting the dog run it needs. Juniper Valley Park belongs to all of us and we should ensure that all segments of the community benefit from the beautiful open green space. Robert Holden has already taken the new ballfields from our two-legged children so we also let him disappoint our four-legged friends. Dog owners unite!

Dog Runs and Dog Parks

Many communities throughout the United States now have safe, legal and enclosed dog runs (and dog parks) where friendly, well-behaved puppies and dogs can play together off-leash. As a founding member of The New York City Coalition For Dogs (a group which was formed in 1989 to address a variety of dog-related issues or concern to dog owners), I have for years been actively involved in establishing official, city-recognized dog runs throughout New York City. When I first became involved in campaigning for dog runs and dog play areas, I was the Vice President of the only legal, city-recognized dog run in Manhattan (New York City): the Mercer Houston Dog Run Association.

There are now at least twelve such places throughout Manhattan (as of the time of this writing). In some states, there are actually entire Dog Parks where dog owners can go to exercise their dogs off leash!Benefits Of A Dog Run Some of the many benefits of enclosed dog runs/dog parks include:

Puppies and adult dogs have a safe(r), enclosed place to play.

Enclosed play areas prevent off-leash dogs from infringing on the rights of other community residents and park users such as joggers, small children, and those who may be fearful of dogs.
By their mere presence, groups of dog owners (and their dogs) help deter crime, and frequently act as the eyes and ears for the police.

A well-exercised dog is a happier and healthier dog.

An exercised dog makes a better next door neighbor than an under-exercised dog. Puppies and dogs which get enough exercise by playing in a dog run, are less likely to create a nuisance, bark excessively, destroy property, jump on passers-by, etc.

In an era where people are often reluctant or afraid to approach or converse with a complete stranger, dog runs bring people together and create a greater sense of community. Dogs help shy people "break the ice". People's love for dogs often creates an important common ground, which as if by magic, serves to break down otherwise impenetrable social and economic barriers. Dogs (and dog runs) are in fact responsible for many a lasting friendship between those who might never otherwise have met.

Recommended Dog Run Rules

Members of the dog run and/or community representatives should establish and enforce reasonable health and safety rules for the dog run, such as the following:

Puppies and dogs must be properly inoculated, be healthy (have no contagious conditions or diseases), and be parasite-free (both internally and externally).

To help prevent dog fights, owners are encouraged to inquire about any dogs already in the run which are unfamiliar to them, prior to entering the run. Observing dogs' body language is also recommended.

No dogs known to be aggressive towards other dogs or people (or exhibiting any threatening behavior) may enter the run.

No bitches in heat may enter the run at any time.

Owners must clean up after their dogs.

Owners are asked to closely supervise their dogs, and at no time should an owner leave the run without their dog(s).

If the dog run is located near local residences, hospitals, schools or libraries, owners should discourage their dogs from barking excessively. This is especially important prior to 10AM and after 9PM.

Parents must refrain from bringing toddlers and small children into the run. Parents are strongly discouraged from bringing children less than 12 years of age. Children should at no time be allowed to run with or chase after dogs in the dog run.

Do not bring rawhide or food into the dog run as dogfights may result.

For safety reasons, please remove pinch (prong) and spike collars from your dog prior to entering the dog run. Many dogs and puppies have been injured by playing with another dog who was wearing a pinch collar. A basic flat buckle collar (with city license, Rabies and identification tags) is recommended.

How to Establish a Successful Dog Run in Your Community
If you are interested in establishing a dog run or dog park in your community, here are some of the recommended steps:

Begin by contacting neighborhood dog owners and dog-related clubs, associations, and organizations in your area.

Post, mail and distribute notices with relevant dog run information. (Recommended destinations include: neighborhood bulletin boards, pet supply stores, animal hospitals & clinics, groomers, etc.)

Organize community residents to contact (write letters, sign petitions, e-mail, and telephone)your community representatives, parks department officials and media, favoring the idea of establishing dog runs in your area, and asking for their support. Letters should be brief, polite and articulate.

Write and e-mail all local newspapers, including weekly "freebies". List several reasons that a dog run will benefit your community (including the non-dog-owning public). Include information about already existing dog runs in other communities/states.

Seek out endorsements from local veterinarians, community leaders, and celebrities who support your cause.

Encourage dog owners and other dog run supporters to attend and speak up at community board and community affairs meetings. Pro dog run buttons and flyers are recommended.
Don't give up! It took us (The NYC Coalition for Dogs) more than three years of active campaigning to get the Washington Square Park Dog Run approved by community board members, park department officials and other relevant community representatives! When I first began petitioning for a dog run in Washington Square Park (in Greenwich Village, downtown Manhattan) I was told by a prominent community board member that I was wasting my time, and that I would NEVER succeed in getting a dog run in Washington Square Park. Famous last words!

Crowley Condemns Cleveland

It appears that Dizzy Lizzy is not the staunch education reformer she claims. According to the Forum West, she ignorantly stated “I would be afraid to send my kids to Grover Cleveland." Parents who have children in that school, the Principal and the entire school administration must be fuming and thinking that Dizzy Lizzy should come off her high horse and rub elbows with the little people. It just goes to show you how out of touch she is with people who live outside of Glendale. (She really doesn’t know what’s going on there either).

Liz Crowley must be taking public relations courses at the Robert Holden School of Idiocy. The Liz Crowley Administration is going to be fun to watch. What a moron.

City to Unveil New Plans for Proposed Maspeth School

SCA to Present at January CB5 MeetingBy Conor Greene

After the first plan to build a large combined intermediate and high school in Maspeth was rejected by the local community board, the School Construction Authority will present revised plans to next month.

Despite the negative reaction the plan garnered when it was first presented earlier this year, a SCA officials told the audience at the November 25 Community Education Council 24 meeting that it will bring the revised plans to the City Council for approval, regardless of the reaction it receives from Community Board 5 in January.

The city first proposed building a 1,650-seat school at the former Restaurant Depot site at 74th Street and Grand Avenue to serve students in grades 6-12. In May, CB 5rejected the plan, which called for a 45,000-square-foot, four-story building. Concerns included the size of the building, whether it would be zoned exclusively for local children, and adding traffic to the already congested area.

At the November CEC 24 meeting in PS 58, Lorraine Grillo, executive director and chief of staff of the SCA said that “because of concerns we heard voiced very loudly from the community board, we went back to the drawing board.” The result is a scaled down version that would include seats for 1,000 students, she said. “We tried to come up with an idea that is both useful for the district and palatable for the community… Hopefully this time around, we get a different reaction.”

Grillo explained that the process for building a new school begins when the SCA proposes a potential site. The proposal goes to the community board, which votes on it within its role as an advisory body. “Their vote is just a recommendation, however it very often influences the way the City Council vote,” she said. “We want to be good neighbors… so we go back and see if we can come up with something that will really be accepted.”

However, she indicated that the SCA is committed to moving this proposal forward regardless of the outcome of the January CB 5 meeting. “At that point, if we get a good recommendation – or even if we don’t – we will take this to the City Council Land Use Committee,” she said.

A big consideration for local residents, many who say the area is saturated with schools, is whether it would be zoned only for local children. However, Grillo made it clear that “zoning is not a conversation the SCA has.” That decision will ultimately be made by the city Department of Education.

James McClelland, chief of staff for Councilman Anthony Como, noted that he was involved in the efforts to ensure that the new school being built on Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills was zoned locally. “It’s going to be a long fight to get it locally zoned,” he said. “It took us a long time to get those words, ‘locally zoned.’”

Councilwoman Elect Elizabeth Crowley, who will represent the area starting in January, said she is meeting with officials in hopes of securing local zoning. “I think it should be for our community,” she said. “We haven’t had high school seats [in Maspeth] going back to when I went to high school… I would be afraid to send my kids to Grover Cleveland."

"A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population – as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation's citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state – as liberals do."

Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by: creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization; satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation; augmenting primitive feelings of envy; rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

"The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind," he says. "When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious."

Eric Ulrich officially declares his candidacy for hate and deception

He is barely 24 years old, but already Eric Ulbitch has accomplished more dirty and deceitful tactics than many of his older peers — a fact he hid from reporters on Tuesday when he officially declared his candidacy in the 32nd Council District special election. The Ozone Park resident has worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the New York City Council and the Queens Board of Elections — “experience that counts,” Ulrich said. We asked Ulrich about his time working with Dennis Gallagher but he informed us that Gallagher only let him wash his bathroom so it really doesn’t count.

Ulbitch was the third official declaration of candidacy for the council seat, currently held by Joseph Addabbo Jr., who defeated state Sen. Serphin Maltese (R-Glendale) on Nov. 4, winning the 15th Senatorial District seat.

Howard Beach Democratic District Leader Frank Gulluscio, 60, declared his run for the seat in April, but kept a low profile during Addabbo’s Senate campaign because Gulluscio realizes Eric has as much chance of winning the seat as Christina Wilkinson has winning a beauty contest.

Retired NYPD lieutenant and lifelong Rockaway resident Glenn DiResto, 38, announced on Nov. 19 that his name will be on the ballot come February, when the special election will be held.

Another Rockaway man, Democratic District Leader Lew Simon, has not yet officially declared his run, but has said he intends to in the coming weeks.

Although some have speculated that Ulbitch’s age, habitual lying and propensity for degrading women will contribute negatively to his run, the soon-to-be-married Republican district leader is not worried. “If there ever was a time when the abolition of morality and horrible ideas are needed in the City Council, that time is now and I’m the man.”

Ulrich’s announcement came as a horror to those who have watched him quietly campaigning over the last few months. As president of the Our Neighbors Civic Association of Ozone Park, Ulrich has been abusing his position and slithering in the community and its local politics.
He demonstrated his forked tongue during Tuesday’s announcement, saying: “We can’t allow taxpaying citizens to bear the brunt of this economic crisis. He predictably stated, “We must reduce this city’s bloated bureaucracy before we lay people off, before we close senior citizen centers and before suspending the property-tax rebates.” Yawn

Ulbitch, a dropout of the Nativity BVM Elementary School, a Catholic school in Ozone Park, went on to say: “Elections are about more than just a candidate. They’re about fighting for a larger piece of the pie for ourselves.”

For the groom-to-be who can longer wed in California, “this is not just a campaign for City Council, it’s a campaign for the destruction of the future of the 32nd Council District.” Ironically, however, one must rely on a vast experience in wallowing in the mud. “

That could be why some of those who joined Ulrich at the announcement ceremony were political old-timers. They included Queens County Republican Chairman Philip Ragusa and former City Councilmen Thomas Ognibene, Al Stabile and Andrew Sidamon Eristoff. However, all thought that they were there to participate in a Save the Whale event but stayed around anyway for the free food.

Ulbitch said he “heard voices” at a young age, first contemplating becoming a Roman Catholic priest before realizing that Priests are prohibited from laying down with farm animals, then attending the Cathedral Preparatory Seminary High School and, in 2005, running for the Republican district leader post. He lost that race by 124 votes, but won when he ran again in 2007 thanks to the voters who live in St John’s Cemetery.

Ulrich continues to act like an idiot on behalf of the community as a civic leader and as a member of a number of organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, the Kiwanis Club of Howard Beach, the Robert Holden Political Moron Squad and the New York Republican State Committee.
As a “calculated, cold-hearted and dispassionate leader who enjoys letting politics get in the way of serving the community,” Ulbitch said he remains pessimistic about the future while looking into the mirror. His reason: “Only in New York City can I guy like me run for office.”

Harry Reid Attacks Stinky DC Tourists... Again

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid attacked the smelly tourists in Washington today:
The Capitol Visitors Center, which opened this morning, may have tripled its original budget and fallen years behind schedule, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid found a silver lining for members of Congress: tourists won't offend them with their B.O. anymore."My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway," said Reid in his remarks. "In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it's true."

But, this wasn't the first time he lashed out at smelly Americans.Back on April 14, 2008, Harry said the same thing:

“Mr. President, someone wanting to visit the Capitol today, there is no place for them to gather. They gather -it used to be out on the East Front - now they gather on the West Front. And the people who work here joke about you can always tell when it's summertime because you can smell the visitors. And what we mean by that Mr. President – they stand out there in the high humidity, heat, sweating, and it’s really – there’s no place for them to go.” Sen. Harry Reid's Floor remarks today.

Maybe they could set up a sprinkler and hose them down before they entered the confines?

Shea Stadium Should be Named Taxpayer Field

Finally, a voice of reason in the current milieu of vacuous intelligence that exists in the City Council thanks to the lone republicans.

The two councilmen, Vincent M. Ignizio and James S. Oddo, both of Staten Island, called on Tuesday for the stadium to be renamed Citi/Taxpayer Field. The two men will soon be the only Republicans on the 51-member Council. "Perhaps a name change is in order, since it will be the taxpayers of the country who will foot the bill for not only part of stadium, but for the company itself," Mr. Ignizio said. "The taxpayers are spending billions for this company to maintain its operations and deserve the recognition for their largess."

Mr. Oddo quipped: "Not naming the field after Jackie Robinson in the first place: mindless. Tom Seaver stepping onto the new mound for the first time: timeless. Actually acknowledging the contributions of the hardworking taxpayer: priceless."
